Henny Penny Foods

Always have loved Henny Penny since the first restaurant opened in Merewether. But this time chips were great, gravy awesome, but they need to ask if you want wedges with your order of salt! Oh wait, I meant to say please ensure you ask for no salt, because they won't, and give you the whole jar on your food.

Henny Penny has some of the best chicken, and the greatest gravy. This store has fast service, although a member of staff thought prime time was a good time to clean out the fridge's radiator so the experience wasn't as good as it could have been. Apart from that, fantastic staff and if you eat in, they provide plates and cups for your large drink.

The chicken was dry around the edges. It seemed like it was in the warmer for a long time.

There is a fat bastard inside me that is tickled and loves me when i come here. The chips and gravy are the reason why anytime i'm near newcastle that I have to stop here

This is my third favourite Henny Penny. Friendly staff, fast service, well prepared food, but inappropriate travel containers allocated to chips and gravy, c'mon y'all, a cardboard chip box is not going to hold together once the gravy gets to it. Other than that, very good.

The fried chicken was amazing. Very delicious with a crunchy coating. I'd give the potato and gravy a miss. There's a small carpark attached and a wheelchair friendly entrance. Dining area is inside only but ample.

Its has been a while since I have had henny penny and I hope it will be a while before I try it again. The chicken must have been so old and so dry the bird must have died of old age not butched even the cockroaches rejected it. The coleslaw was terrible and not what it used to be The only reasonable thing was the chips. I was going to give them no stars but felt sorry for them and gave them one.

Pretty ordinary food. Coleslaw is terrible. Store hasn’t aged very well.
