George Banks Bar and Bistro

Wow. All I can say is WOW! George Banks restaurant and bar is the only genuine rooftop bar in Toowoomba. The presentation is absolutely immaculate and the service is white table silver spoon spec. I was alone and thus unable to see whether or not they do synchronised serving however from what I have experienced thus far this establishment is nothing less than full five star. What's more, there's a generously well-stocked bar. This is the best public drinks and dining spot in Toowoomba City by far. Compliments to the Coory family (the owners) - you've done a stellar job with this location!

Had a great vibe. Everyone was having a ball us included. A real surprise for us out of towners to find a great bar like this.

George Banks Rooftop Bar & Bistro is by far and away my favourite restaurant in all of Australia. As a foreigner who is not 100% fluent in English language sometimes when I travel it is difficult to communicate. The staff at George Banks were so kind, thoughtful and patient with me I super appreciated it. The bar staff were great, the drinks were fantastic and the food there is truly delicious. Best steakk I had had in a long long time.

Nice spot for a quiet Sunday arvo beverage. Nice in the sun outside watching the work go by.

The staff went above and beyond to make us comfortable and ensure we enjoyed our experience. The food was excellent (highly recommend the Moreton Bay Bug risotto) and a great selection of wines. Will definitely be back when next in Toowoomba

A great choice of food at great prices, for the whole family. All staff very friendly The cocktails are amazing too. Thoroughly enjoyed spending time with friends. The music was great and you could still chat.

Food is always nice and it is a nice atmosphere. However, they need to do something about the temperature - especially if it raining. Both times I have been there it was very cold. Staff are always really friendly and helpful.

Food was great. Ambience and location fantastic. Our group spent $300 for lunch but Bistro would not honour our Entertainment Book coupon. Making some lame excuse even after we double checked the T&C. We didn't want to make an embarrassing fuss so paid and left bemused by why we were treated this way.

With a name associated with cinema royalty this place was a very good find. Atop a three storey building the rooftop bar and dining offers a wonderful ambience. The team members were engaging and were knowledgeable about the many dining items. The bar was filled with the usual variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for the discerning and not so discerning palates. Well worth a visit. Well done to all those involved with the concept bar and dining.

Maybe it has changed management in the last 6 months, seemed to have communication issues within the staff.
