9 Bay Lane 2481, Byron Bay
Really lovely staff! Ordered my first ever oyster here and while I wonβt rush to try another, they were beautiful and fresh!
I love this place as they make great seafood. I went back there after 7 years, the food was great needs some improvement in particular the calamari was a bit tough. I think the prices are a bit steep. The owner has been running the store for 21 years now. Heβs a lovely guy and very friendly with the customers. Itβs just that now I am writing the review I feel like I should have mentioned the calamari rings were tough. I really liked the grilled fish and grilled prawns the spices and flavour was amazing.
Food was served fast and everything tasted amazing. The service was also great and the ladie was very nice
I rarely write reviews but feel compelled to warm others how AWFUL the food is. Our lunch order for our family takeaway was $95 and every bit of it went in the bin and we then went elsewhere to buy lunch. The calamari was tough as rubber, the fish soggy and flavourless. The grilled prawns were wrinkled and terrible. The chips were hard and revolting. I am so sorry to be writing this but wish I had been told so we could have avoided.
Best fish and chips in Byron, prices reflect the quality! It was excellent, proportions great and the singing staff were a treat, shows the love it there. Will definitely visit it again.
The grilled fish was so good with the right amount of seasoning on it and the pumpkin chips on top were nice and crisp, yummy chips at the bottom but would be nicer if they were a bit thinner cut, big portion, very filling, great value! Not to forget the tartar sauce was yummy :)
Best fish and chips ever. Tempura batter is mind blowingly good!!!!
We both had the marinated baby octopus. One with tempura vegetables and one with salad. Both were gross!! Tough, and not a nice flavour either. Also extremely expensive! Won't be back.
I had calamari and it was dreadful, chewy and very ordinary, certainly nothing exciting. My wife however enjoyed her fish tacos and thought they were pretty good... Guess you can't win em all? Also as with much seafood, let alone Byron Bay, pricey at $50 with a bottle of sparkling water for a quick feed. Go nearby several cheaper and superior offerings.
Great food, pleasant staff, terrific setting in a back lane of Byron Bay.
