Fish Butchery

I liked the place, great selection of fish and takeaway options. The takeaway foods were fantastic. Cooked to perfection and the chips were delicious. The drawback is that it cost quite expensive for some basic fish and chips. Also there is no place to sit to eat. 1 table with 2 chairs were really appreciated so that we can enjoy the moment while the food just cooked super fresh there.

Amazing place with a variety of delicious goods, most all either fish based or fish incorporated to take away. Their fish pies have the best pie pastry I've ever eaten and all in all delicious. The lasagna is also superb. We did try the ice-cream and while really nice, some of the fishier bites is quite overwhelming. I also personally wasn't the biggest fan of the fish broth, though I do appreciate it. Oohhh the hotsauce is amazing too!! For some reason my Google review of Saint Peter isn't posting but gave 5/5. The only reason why I give the fish butchery 4 stars was purely as I wasn't personally a fan of all the dishes, but appreciate the love and attention Josh and his team put into all their fish food and ventures.

Tried the charcoal grilled kingfish and chips and the potato scallop. Fish was amazing but a tad on the salty side - fish skin cooked to perfection and the flesh was soft and delicious. Chips are crunchy when fresh but as they cooled it did go a tad stale. The scallop was a tad too oily, but thick and generous. Will go back to try the burgers next time

Super fresh fish in a shop that takes sustainability into consideration. Thoughtfully combined to make an excellent scallop pie (pre-orders only). Pre-order is the way to go here for fresh fish as well. Call in advance for the latest as to what is available. Recommended. Come here for the fish, don’t worry about the chips, they are ok. Pro-tip - take public transport to this shop.

Was referred by friends to the Fish Butchery and recommended to try the fish burger... it did not disappoint! And if anything was so similar to the flavour you get from a cheeseburger that my husband double checked with me that I hadn't ordered the wrong thing 😂 Delicious chips to go alongside it as well - though make sure you get some sauce or tartare (we forgot and I think it would have just made them that much better!) Will def come back and have no hesitation recommending the tuna burger!!

Gelato and Calamari was 10/10, however chips were quite soggy.

I enjoyed eating at this place. Food was great. Must try the calamari, well fried and have a nice texture. White bait was good but a little too heavy on the salt. The bahn mi was great with the ham made from fish and the pate was also made from fish liver.

Great street food at this popular venue in Paddington. All very good, alas it is only used as a takeaway (probably for the covid). The waitress who served us was a little arrogant and seemed annoyed that I was wasting her time asking her questions that to her probably seemed obvious. Too bad, I was highly recommended by the Melbourne chefs. I don't think I'll be back.

Very good fresh proper seasonal fish, slightly too salty. The chips are a bit hard/chewy and too salty, otherwise excellent meals offered. Portions are fulfilling, but boxes include no sauces. More expensive than average but entirely justified by the quality provided. They offer special dishes changing every day, which sound quite intriguing. Will definitely come back.
