So...service not super...lack of drink attention. Pizzas....I had the brisket...although hard to tell as literally only had 4 small bits of meat and bland a overcooked. So from 7 of us....3 thumbs up....4 thumbs down

We booked last minute for dinner and were so glad that we did! El Capitano was one of our favourite places to eat in Noosa during our 6 night stay. The vibe was very fun, relaxed and yet sophisticated. Cocktails were delicious and unique! The stand out was the incredible pizza though. I loved the lamb pizza, while my partner was super impressed with the zucchini (made vegan with vegan cheese). We had a lot of fun during the evening (how it should be!) and would recommend for sure. We hope to be back soon!

Visited this restaurant on a Wednesday evening for an early dinner. Promptly seated as we made a reservation beforehand (highly recommended). We ordered 3 pizzas to share between 5, which was sufficient. The group thoroughly enjoyed all 3 pizzas, all of us had our own favourites! :-) The crust was unique as well. Would visit again if in the vicinity.

Ahoy there mateys! If someone said to you, "hey, let's go to the pizzeria bar!", and then somehow you ended up at El Capitano on that notion, well you might just find something much different to what you would expect. This establishment breathes a pleasant old salt taste, similar to a "classy" version of the inside of a fine sailing vessel. Nautical themed throughout, El Capitano is white-modern with beechwood highlights and certainly has a sea shanty feel. There's a wicked octopus wall graphic on the right as you walk into the restaurant, accompanied by a mermaid and other ocean-related paraphernalia. You’ll also find the octopus’ arms cleverly wrapped around their bespoke take away pizza boxes, ready to grab your bounty. Avast! There are detailed shipping bibs and bobs, soft lighting and comfy booths surrounded by casual benches (the kind you would find aboard a ship). Here, you can find a nice place to nestle in with a friend, sharing stories related to the sea well into the night. And, if you don’t get hooked on the house “Holy Water” (one of their grapefruit inspired cocktails), then you might just take a swig from one of the old rum bottles (but seriously, use a glass). Which of course has the “real” stuff in it, you know… water. While you casually sit there you may even think about your 'Buccaneers'? And those ears, just might be listening to soft pop songs of the eighties like Bruce Springsteen's "I'm on fire", while you landlubbers wait for your meals. There are neatly dressed motley crew floating around this land-ship like angels on a cloud. I must say that the staff are all studious, attentive, energetically efficient, and aim to please during your dining experience. A real pleasure to find in a place like Noosa. The menu is non-pretentious and quite affordable (unlike some other places you may find in the area), which really makes you feel more welcomed. When it comes time to eat, you may find yourself sorting through a fine antipasti selection, then diving in to some garlic dough balls or grilled tiger prawns. For me though, being the vegetarian pirate that I am, I ordered the vegan butternut pizza bianca. It was a toss up between that and the sweet potato option, but as one does, I was ogling a fellow diners' pizza at the large shared table I was at and just 'had' to order it. The cute little wisps of eggplant tahini on top sold it for me. The flavours worked well for a 72 hour fermented dough base, and was indeed, delicious. I ordered parsley for my top as I don't like coriander and they were happy to oblige. The Chef was kind enough to ensure each slice had sample of each flavour for my pallet. Don't you love when they do that! I must admit, it would have been better had they dashed some more onion jam on the top, cuz that ship is the bomb! (see what I did there?) There was no entree for me, although I did enjoy a local cold pressed pineapple juice, because the pizza sizes are quite large. El Capitano was kind enough to allow me to take the remaining pieces home, and I have to say, pizza is sometimes seriously so much better cold, because at home, all of those flavours just went boom! But pizza is like that sometimes huh. El Capitano is certainly not one of those post-covid businesses asking for inflated charitable dinner prices, like some I've been to. (Cmon, you know what I'm talking about.) That is certainly not the case here. So hold on to that loose change clanging about in your pockets and save it for a tip, because the staff really do deserve it. It seems this land-ship was also recognised by the Noosa council, Noosa tourism and the Plastic Free program for being one of the only champions on the Noosa strip for reducing their plastic waste to almost nothing. Well done El Capitano! A pro-earth business, we like that. El Capitano, a sight for sore eyes for local or non-local riff raff pouring in from the gorgeous Hastings St. A place to feel welcomed and easy after a hard day tanning it up at the beach. Enjoy yer' meals me hearties... arrrr!

How is this place not more of a thing? Relaxed yet classy, extensive and well thought cocktail list, great menu of entree and sides and of course the legendary sourdough pizza! The topping combos are epic and so satisfying. The best pizza besides being in Italy. The service is 100% across the board which in these days is a rarity. Friendly, professional and efficient. All-round great vibes, get amongst it!

Charming smiling wait staff and great sourdough pizza with delicious, crunchy crust and just the right amount of cheese so you could really taste the ingredients. We had the pepperoni and the brisket with pickles, who would have thought pickles go really well on pizza? Both were delicious and they also had a good selection of gin.

After reading the website I was really looking forward to trying El Capitano but we had a mixed experience. I love good quality sourdough pizza bases and when we had the dough balls they were delicious so we were excited about the pizza to come. Unfortunately, while the base was good, what was put on the pizza was not great. The tomato sauce didn't have much flavour and the cheese had seized which was not enjoyable. The strange this was I saw other pizzas that looked to have stringy cheese so not sure if it was just the type of cheese used on the pork and fennel sausage pizza that had the issue or if it was an issue with the cooking temperature. The pork meatballs also had a strange colour and consistency so we didn't even finish the pizza as we weren't enjoying it.
