Donna Chang

Fabulous food and immaculate service. My wife and I had lunch with my dear old Mum that has mild dementia and the staff couldn’t of been more accommodating. She still loves a glass or two of wine but the second has to be non alcoholic. They did have some non alcoholic wine on their list but they wouldn’t of suited her so they allowed us to bring a bottle in which they carefully serve so she couldn’t pick up on it. Very impressive. The food as always was brilliant, from the crab dumplings to the half roasted duck with plum sauce. It was our third visit and we’ll keep going back. Thanks again for all your help.

We enjoyed our evening at Donna Chang. The old savings bank building brings a classic old world vibe to this modern Chinese restaurant. The food was good but not amazing. The duck pancakes were generous with an on point presentation. The crispy pork was juicy. I’m not a fried rice lover but really enjoyed Donna Chang’s as it wasn’t oily and more importantly didn’t have an over abundance of peas.

I had head so much about this place so my husband and I went in with great expectations. Yes lovely building, setting and atmosphere but amazing Chinese food? I think not unfortunately. I found the food to be underwhelming and just blah. It’s lacked flavour, authenticity and was boring. It just didn’t live up to the hefty price tag. Sadly I probably wouldn’t dine here again. I’ve had much much better Chinese ‘fine dining’. Shame as I was really hoping to love it.

Pure bliss! From as soon as you open the doors your in such a incredible and luxurious space and the food is just incredible!!!

A lot of people seem to complain about the price point but it's very good value for money with large portions which are excellent for sharing. Donna Chang does authentic Chinese food which is done exceptionally well and worth revisiting. The atmosphere was wonderful but the service was just fantastic. I was desperate for comfort food and I was certainly well fed and comforted when I left. I can't wait to return and explore the rest of their menu.

Delicious food & good service. Only minus is the very small & light coasters - if you have a cold drink in a non-wine glass the coasters stick and can end up on your lap/plate/floor. We struggle to find genuinely great Chinese food in Brisbane at any price but Donna Chang delivered and then some. Fresh ingredients cooked to perfection and (unless the menu gives you some other impression for a specific dish) with just the right balance of flavours you would expect.

Our first time to Donna Chang restaurant and impressed with the deco inside. The service is good. The food is excellent. We love all the dishes we ordered especially the steam chicken dishes and the mixed Tim sum. We will definitely be back again!

The banquet for two was delicious. The atmosphere and decor breathtaking. Sadly service let down our experience, hence three stars. Service staff should know their menu backwards, yet the first dishes were delivered with no explanation and when asked about the dishes, the waiter said he didn't know and returned to read out the menu. When the next dishes arrived, again we had to prompt for an explanation and the same happened when our deserts were presented, this time by a female. She didn't enquire if we wished something else, instead turning to walk off, we were forced to raise our voices to get attention to place our coffee order. The restaurant was not busy, so no reason for below average service.

Fabulous food and service in a beautiful venue. Have been there many times and have never been disappointed. I highly recommend a visit to this resaurant but would advise you to book ahead as not surprisingly it can be difficult to get into.
