DECO HOTEL

Very clean and comfortable place to stay near the centre of Canberra. The apartments are also situated near public transport and shopping centres. NOTE to get into the car park the cornering was quite tight so maybe bring a smaller vehicle if possible. Overall the DECO HOTEL is a marvellous place to stay and I would highly recommend staying there.

Absolutely fantastic! Now every time we go to Canberra we have stayed at the Deco Hotel and LOVE it! It was our 4th time and I thought I should leave a review. The hotel is just perfect, CLEAN, modern, extremely comfortable. The design of rooms is functional with great features from touch pad for lights, curtains to the beautiful functional bathroom. The deco is modern, neutral and calming tones. The location is superb, central to everything in Canberra. We like to eat out and it's close to literally everything... War Memorial, Civic, Dickson, Anslie etc. Service... amazing! Professional, very helpful and genuine smiles from staff, so it seems like they like working there! This is the type of hotel where it's worth staying if you want to get out and about and have a base. It doesn't feature ballrooms or superfluous things, so all the value is in what you really need in a hotel, and for us that's why it's so valuable. Honestly for the money, it's world class!

Stayed here twice over the past two years. The first visit was amazing, 5 starts all around. We got an apartment which had the two bedrooms in the one room. The 2nd visit was a big let down. This time we were split over two rooms, which was interconnecting with a room in each. The room was not very clean, hair all over the carpet and marks on the dining room floors. Reception staff advised that housekeeping had finished for the day and could only offer a vacumme. They did try and make good with the issues, by offering free breakfast. The light in the bathroom would not turn off either. Will try find somewhere different on the next visit however.

Great rooms, lots of space! Coffee machine and kitchen was also excellent.

We have had installation teams stay at Deco Hotel numerous times over the past two years and always been impressed. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable to retreat to at the end of a big day of work. Having our workers comfortable when working away from home is imperative and Deco Hotel always provides that. I should mention the prices are always very reasonable too. Spent a lot more in hotels that are nowhere near as nice. Our most recent booking come with some issues (my fault) when I booked the rooms for the day I was booking them on, when my intention was to book it for the following week. Not sure what happened but amongst phone calls and other distractions, I booked on the wrong day. The money was taken out of our accounts which flagged me to the issue and I called the hotel immediately at 6am in the morning to explain what had happened. The person on reception could not do anything for me but did support my suggestion of speaking to a manager when they started later on. I called the manager a couple of hours later who was extremely helpful and she was able to transfer the booking dates to the intended time and she could see what I had done was a genuine error. The sign of a well run institution is the treatment of their paying customers, whilst it was my error, they were understanding of the situation and granted me the credit I was after. I am sure things might have been different if the hotel was fully booked, but I doubt the error would have been able to be made as I made the booking after the days allocated check in time. All in all, we will visit Deco Hotel every time we have work in Canberra.

Cleanliness - 3/5 Rooms weren't entirely clean. Stains on couches and chairs, layers of dust on the furniture and ornaments. Location - 3/5 Short drive to the city centre and a range of food and bar options nearby. 15-20min walk however. Room Service/Housekeeping - 1/5 Requested 3 times that a faulty shower head be looked at. I've since left and the shower head still hasn't been fixed - not the most ideal. Room service also seems to be quite stingy, forgetting over the course of 4 days to provide a new bar of soap and even tissue paper when there was clearly none remaining. Facilities - 5/5 Excellent quality food from the restaurant. Mini bar is well stocked if not a little pricey. Gym and spacious car parking on site. Decor - 4/5 Modern rooms with all the comforts one could need. TV is tiny given the size and distance of the room - no option for online streaming services. A lot of the decorations and furniture are in need of replacing with clear scuff marks and peelings in areas. Seems very cheaply built with wall switches and handles all very loose. Overall - 3/5 Not a terrible accommodation option although there are cheaper and better hotels in the Canberra region worth looking at. Service was the main downfall of an otherwise pleasant experience.

Spacious, modern, clean. Booked direct and received a good rate plus free secure underground parking. The staff were lovely. My new favorite place to stay in Canberra and I am already spreading the word. Well done deco hotel!

Excellent customer service - after being accidentally put in the wrong room due to an online system error, the reception staff did everything to rectify the situation. They were attentive, apologetic, and very empathetic. The hotel itself was modern and well laid out. Great parking and easy to get to and from. I would stay here again, and I would recommend this hotel to others. Deco Hotel, please thank the reception staff that worked from Friday 22- 23rd/July 2022, they should be congratulated for their service.

I haven't stayed here however the Vibe has fantastic service from reception staff to bar and dining staf. The food and cocktails in the restaurant and up at the bar are always so good! I'm regularly visiting for drinks and dinner when colleagues/clients are visiting from interstate and we always enjoy our nights. The reception/internet in the main foyer is terrible though... Might be better if you could log into their WiFi (which I haven't done).

Lovely new modern hotel with all smart room features and well done details. Even the mini-bar is smart with weight sensors for each item and automatic billing which is cool. Curtians are also electric and the console near the bedsides is perfect. Art work is tasteful and decor is contemporary but comforting. Showers are rain showers and are very good. TV is huge but does not have streaming services or ability to cast your own subscriptions instead its that annoying on demand hotel movie service where each movie is $10. Location is good but literally the last street that can be called Braddon. Bit of a walk to the restaurants and you have to walk through the park which is dark at night. Room service menu has breadth but not super fun for vegans - you can get a main but it's a salad = boring. Set breakfast not super vegan friendly hard to justify the price. But it's in the zone for heaps of great food delivery options for all the meals. The service was friendly and underground parking costs $10 for your whole stay - which is excellent.
