Delicious seafood, lovely staff, appeared to have good covid-safe practices (staff wearing masks and online check in etc).

The seafood here is always exceptionally fresh. Prices vary daily per market fluctuations but are still great value.

The food was incredible!! Loved everything from pasta to the oyster, even the lamb. Beer was super delicious. We had dinner and celebrated one of my friend’s birthday here, pleasant experience and highly recommended. Although I would love if the staff could help cleaning up the empty plates more often. We came on a Saturday evening with a group of 6 and sat outside. I suggest to come earlier as booking is not available for a small group.

What a delightful experience to dine in this happy, community-minded eatery. The staff are great, happy too. I always notice my complexion is excellent after eating their exceptionally fresh, delicious and nutritious meals. So much to choose from! But above all, the soft and soothing tones of Margie-Lou Dyer as she serenades the diners with classic jazz/blues tunes, gospel and originals really sets the tone for an intimate, romantic or friendly evening every Saturday night from 7-9ish pm. An uplifting experience that benefits the patrons for days. The art there is also awesome. You won't run out of things to say here. The wine is carefully curated. An all round, no fuss, excellent experience. Enjoy!

On a bright and cheery Sunday afternoon, Claypots Evening Star delivers a mouthwatering feast of the ocean's finest, each bite packed with volumes of punch and flavour. Adopting a "back to basics" approach of "great produce cooked brilliantly", the flavours here are mind-blowingly good - definitely among the top tier of Melbourne's seafood restaurants.

A little favourite of mine. A cozy little place with great seafood. I always order the giant sized seafood pasta which does not disappoint. They are generous with the seafood they put inside. And oysters are always fresh.

Amazing dining experience here, fresh seafood accompanied with excellent wine. The food was incredible, definitely a night that will be remembered for years to come

This Is Melbourne!!!! Melbourne is back to life! A beautiful evening at Claypots Evening Star, South Melbourne, with the Dean's Martini band. Beautiful food and to top it off, beautiful Crooner Music. In Covid times, God I've missed this.
