Great food, quick service plus lunch deals
Sashimi is super fresh and the food is good and authentic. Wide selection of different tapas and drinks. The food can take a while to get to your table, but it’s worth it
Quality, not quantity - in typical Japanese style. We'll be back.
We had the most amazing meal here tonight! Service was attentive and friendly, we ordered mostly from the Tapas menu. The dishes were brought out 2 at a time, and we had plenty of time to savour each dish before the next came out, but not so long that we were waiting for the food. We chose a varied selection including sushi, sashimi and chicken wings. Everything was incredible: the fresh and beautifully flavoured kingfish sashimi was a stand out, but everything we ordered was delicious. Even my very picky husband loved everything, and we eat out a lot so this happens rarely. Dessert was also wonderful: I had the black sesame mochi ball ice cream, and if you love rice mochi balls you will love it! Very interesting with lovely flavours. Presentation of everything was simple, detailed and appealing, just like the food. Beautiful little handmade Japanese pottery Tapas plates, good quality disposable chopsticks, and forks if you are not great with chop sticks. We will definitely be back next time we visit the area, this was the best meal we have had in a really long time. We want to try more of the menu, and the extensive drinks and cocktails menu as well. Thanks for being the perfect ending to our holiday! Cafoo Izakaya we will be back!
Meal size was not as big as some other places but were very delicious, of high quality, and filled us up enough.
Such amazing food, one of my favourite restaurants! Friendly staff with good music.
Good presentation on dishes and nice flavour, sashimi are fresh and slice in a good size. Good place to grab small drink and yummy Japanese food.
This place should be labelled as a fast food restaurant. From ordering our food and drinks to receiving our 4th course was 10 minutes. I got dressed up for a great night out for my husband's birthday. I needn't have bothered, as it was so fast that we were back home within 45 minutes. After the 3rd course hit our table we asked if they could wait for a while as the food was coming too fast. She returned with the 4th course, apologised and said the chef had already cooked it. We'd only had a sip of our drinks and it was all over. The food was nice and the crispy skin salmon was great, but it was all too quick and we took our bottle of wine home with us. If I go to a restaurant, I want an experience. Unfortunately this isn't offered here - we felt like we were rushed out the door.
Stumbled upon this restaurant by mistake and returned twice in a week as it was so good! It's an unassuming little place that used to house another great restaurant 'The Blue Door". The food is genuine and def as good as the other Japanese eateries on the coast. Staff can be little slow but very polite.
Absolutely delicious each and every time The chef is so on point, I kept ordering more and more as it was so Yum Can't even wait to go back. X
