Queensland Museum, level 2, South Brisbane
I have enjoyed the food here and I think they have good value for money. Several good salads, great fruit toast. I was surprised to read the other comments and wonder if they have mixed this cafe up with the cafe outside the library?
Arrive at 12.55 pm ordered coffee tea and sausage rolls chips and lasagne, bad idea1. Sausage rolls arrived warm but acceptable then the coffee /tea arrived at 1.10 pm.. Thats when it went belly up at 1.30pm when the person that brought us the coffee/tea walk past us and sat down to have lunch which included "Chips" we enquired about the rest of our order, told chips / lasagne take 20 minutes, originally told 10 min. A further 15 minutes pass the Lasagne arrives minus the chips my granson falls asleep..the chips arrive a further 10 mins. later no apologies, nothing. People that arrived 30 minutes after we ordered sat down to there meal and CHIPS, we had an extremely fractured meal delivery totally unacceptable, there were no more then 15 other people in the restaurant that included a few staff taking their break.
Great coffee, salads and service. Will definitely be back!
Reasonable price, Pesto Salad was tasty, didn't leave a drop of food behind. The yummiest chips! Good to see sustainable packaging.
Complete rip off. $12 for a piece of toast (white not sourdough as described) with the thinnest amount of avo (it's avo not Vegemite) is appalling. Very understaffed. Staff were unfriendly and very stressed. Would not recommend. Clearly this restaurant is taking advantage of it location by the museum as it doesn't even try to be a positive experience.
Outstanding coffee and environs. Thankyou all!
I've come here for good coffee over the last three years but it's unfortunately quite hit and miss these days, and overpriced. Surely during covid there should be some effort made to keep customers.
Got to be the most expensive cafe outside of an airport! Eg sad looking ham and cheese toasted sandwich $9.50. One thin slice of cheap ham and slice of plastic cheese. A long roll $12 with some basic ingredients. Absolute ripoff.
Dissapointing that a sit down cafe only offers take away cups. Come on guys it’s 2021
Iced coffee and iced chocolate come in small paper cups and 6.50 is overpriced! Could get two iced drinks from Maccas that taste better. They’re also barely “iced” and coffee is extremely bitter, couldn’t even drink the cup. Got two drinks and two ice creams from the freezer for $21, such an expensive and poor tasting end to an otherwise lovely day. View is nice on the top floor.
