Brokenwood Wines

We did “The Journey” tasting experience which was a premium tasting with food matches, delivered to us by the chef. Our tasting guide Alex was incredibly knowledgeable and definitely took us on a journey of growing conditions, wine varietals, climate conditions, food matching and the suite of Brokenwood wines. We even tasted a Shiraz straight from the barrel!! Was a great experience. Alex was amazing!

Lovely place, very well designed, open area and spread out that gives an exclusive feeling while you're tasting. We were served by Megan, who was absolutely delightful, very friendly and knowledgeable and when she wasn't sure of something, was enthusiastic about finding out the answer for us while offering extra insight into other areas she thought we'd be interested in. Made the experience entirely worth the extravagant $25 tasting fee for 8 glasses, the only reason for 4 stars and not 5

We recently held a conference at Brokenwood Wines and as soon as we walked in the door their team couldn't have been more accommodating and caring. With our members club benefits we gained free access to a room to hold a team day, with wine tasting at the end of the day. Great service, great coffee and top wines. It was a great day overall, thanks again team!

Absolutely loved the morning. 2 adult and 3 kids (9/7/4). Our hotel only offered a buffet at $34/head which with kids is just outrageous as they don’t eat much. We drive past and saw open for breakfast from 9 so popped in. Friendly and happy to have us. Not much on the menu that you would consider “traditional” for kids but we ordered the platter/share board and it was amazing. Kids picked at bread, fruit, oats/chia, ham & cheese croissant, bacon. That plus 3 kids size milkshakes (great to offer at $3.50 each) and fantastic coffee and all 5 of us had plenty to eat. So tasty. Great bathrooms. Kids had a little walk and could see the barrels. Only downside was it was a little slow. There was 3 other tables and I don’t mind waiting but the kids make it harder. They were very happy to see and taste the food board.

My brother and I had an amazing experience here. We seriously undercooked our time here and deeply regretted leaving in under an hour. I could have stayed all afternoon. Elaine you were wonderfull and we had a great time talking with you and we could tell how passionate you were about what you do. Thank you for the excellent experience. I honestly wish we had stayed longer. I hope to come back again very soon.

The location and ambience is absolutely gorgeous... And could not have had more welcoming and helpful staff! We had Claire both serve us at our wine tasting and another day make our coffees. She was an absolute gem who was so helpful and remembered us and all my pesky questions 🤩

We had such an amazing time at Broken wood wines. The matching experience was absolutely wonderful, the food was delicious, the staff was delightful and the whole experience was one of the highlights of our 10 days road trip. Definitely recommend it!

A nice winery but a little too big and touristy to be truly enjoyable. The wines were all very good but nothing stood out. The highlight is the food pairing which was delicious. While we didn't regret our visit, it wasn't memorable enough to visit again

Absolutely loved this place. We did a food pairing tasting and we loved it so much that we brought a bottle of wine and a cheese platter to enjoy afterwards. When the staff found out it was our wedding anniversary they surprised us with a glass of bubbles each which made the whole experience just above and beyond. We went back for brekky the next day and I recommend that too. Finally a good coffee in the Hunter!
