65 Cardigan Pl, Albert Park
I both love and hate that they opened up a second location near my apartment. Because yes, I don’t have to travel to North Melbourne for my bread club fix anymore, but now I want to go there every day and eat everything. The pizza is very good, lots of bubbles and toppings. I definitely recommend heating it up at home in the oven and letting it get crispy & crunchy. Bread is, of course, excellent. Coffee is great! Staff lovely & attentive. Can’t go wrong! Just prepare to be addicted. EDIT: Had the cardamom bun today and it was very, very good! So good, in fact, that I contemplated not telling my partner I’d bought it because I didn’t want to share.
I don’t like queuing up but for the seeded baguette from Bread Club, I don’t care how long the wait, crispy, soft, chewy, smoky, full of flavour. Make sure you have some good butter on hand.
Fantastic! I love their sausage rolls and toffee sea salt cookies. I plan on trying every single pastry they have 👍 Would recommend!
Normally I go to North Melbourne’s Bread Club for my bakery essentials, but go specially for Albert Park spot today. Love every details and the staffs are very friendly. Salami Pizza and Pepperoni Pizza are the two amazing choices!!! I also love the Lamington Cookie!
I've never in my life, eaten almond croissants or hot cross buns, even remotely as amazingly delicious as the ones I've eaten from this shop!! The line runs down the street to get into the shop to order, it's that popular but it's absolutely worth the wait! I now know everything I've eaten before discovering The Bread Shop, was complete rubbish, I just didn't know any better at the time 🤣
Food is great! Staff are lovely except for the manager who is rude and discriminatory. If you can, go to North Melbourne to avoid encountering her horrible energy. I walked in with my very small dog and before I could order, she abruptly said "dogs cannot be in here, it's not hygienic" while several other dogs had just been in and out with customers and their orders.. They were clearly not asked to leave. If you insist on enforcing such a backward rule in an area where every second person is walking past with a dog, at least be consistent. (By the way, the North Melbourne store have always welcomed dogs and the manager there is warm and friendly).
What can I say, I love their products - the bread, croissants, sandwiches but especially the crusty, crunchy fogas. They are always overrun when I go there so I have empathy for the staff coming across a little stressed-out, given someone else described them as moody. The products still taste awesome :)
Loved dropping a visit to the new Bread Club branch. We heard raving reviews of their hot cross buns initially but upon our arrival we just couldn’t resist the rest of their offerings! Loved their vegemite (I don’t normally fancy vegemite but this was masked pretty well) and jalapeño scroll, the baguette, AND the winner of all, twice-baked chocolate hot cross bun.
Had the cheese / tomato pizza bread and fougasse. Fantastic bread. Nice coffee also.
Friendly staff. As it was drizzling, the staff wrapped up the pastries in double bags. Good selection of pastries. Double baked croissant was sinfully decadent but nice.
