153 Gertrude St 3065, Fitzroy
Great food, service and location. My wife and I were made to feel very welcome and they accommodated our needs. Highly recommend their Cremeβ Caramel.
Perfectly cooked, medium rare steak; loved the CafΓ© de Paris Butter. The frites (fries) were well seasoned, but soggy. Lovely atmosphere.
Great that this marvellous little bistro is back in full swing again after a prolonged Covid inspired shutdown. With a limited well honed menu and daily specials this is a neighbour favourite. Not a five star French bistro but reliable, but it is cosy, with eminently enjoyable food and a limited but on point wine list to complement the food. Front of house expertly managed by the affable Nick makes for an all together enjoyable dining experience at affordable prices. Lots of regulars here ever week. Tells you something! Bon Appetit.
The entree was good (charcuterie board). The mains were great (duck and aged steak), but the dessert took ages to come and the caramelized apple in the apple tatin was a bit bitter. Maybe was a bad day and they were short of staff but my experience was a bit below expectations.
Fantastic dining experience with delicious french food and friendly staff.
Superb food, lovely staff.
We met friends for dinner recently and we all enjoyed the meal and the ambience, as close to Paris as we can get this year at least. The menu is relatively short but has enough options to satisfy most diners, including steak tartare, a seafood entre and fish for maincourse, plus duck, chicken and more steak, not forgetting Chateau Briand for 2 to share. The dessert menu was tempting, maybe next visit . The wine list was well chosen and reasonably priced. Presentation and service was carried out with style. This is a restaurant to come back to and enjoy with friends or family where it is possible to chat and relax over an excellent meal.
Quaint Parisian style bistro dishing up unpretentious French classics. Our waiter Nick was knowledgeable and hospitable.
Great food and attentive service. Oysters were really fresh and the chocolate mousse was delicious!
So happy Madame Sousou has relocated to Gertrude St, Fitzroy as Bistro Sousou!! Amazing classic dishes still! ππ½ππ½ππ½
