Good beef stroganoff
Came here for a spontaneous dinner. Tuesday 3 January was classed as a public holiday and the 15% surcharge was applicable. The food was not that great, but staff were very welcoming and friendly. Not particularly cheap, but certainly not expensive either. The beer seemed pricey with the $9 special pint of Boags draught. Admittedly, we were right on closing time, 8pm, but some of the 3 lamb cutlets were undercooked despite the deliciously dark fried crumbed exterior look, and the fancy-looking over-fried potatoes were super salty. No oil and vinegar or decent salad dressing for the limited salad bar. My partners salmon dish came out as a small serve of battered gummy shark as they ran out of salmon.... I'm sorry the food review wasn't great, but you come here for a good feed, and not for a culinary experience, and it certainly did ok there. We left very satisfied in the end as it was kind of what we were expecting, and service was fast and friendly and the beer tasted great!.
Food was filling, delicious, and fast. Service seemed a little rushed initially, but did not feel rushed to leave which was good. Atmosphere is a bit sterile due to a large open dining area with plasticy furnishings but still nice especially for large groups. Always the bar for a relaxed individual meal or drink.
Went there for tea with the grand kids and ordered a BBQ parmey and salt and pepper squid the squid was an amazing dish done differently with an Asian salad and the flavour just kept on coming. The parmey was amazing as well full of flavour all the way through I would recommend you go there and the price was very reasonable
We had the roast pork and we could tell it had all been sitting the bainmarie for too long. It was either dry or cold or over cooked. They should be reported for crimes against brussel sprouts!! The waitress said they were cooked the day before!! NOT GOOD!!!🤢 This is why people don't like them!! I usually love them!
After hotel hopping for 3 weeks around Tasmania and having average meals the Argosy Bistro was one of the best we have had and even better value for seniors. Very happy we tried on our last day.
An excellent pub style meal, huge serves but still flavoursome and enjoyable. Salad bar with a good arrangement of cold salads to please most people. Nice atmosphere, no too much noise and a good crowd. Excellent service, super friendly and supper fast meals. Nice selection of Tasmanian wines, and the Ninth Island pinot grigio was excellent and great value. Always great to see Tasmanian resteraunts supporting Tasmanian products. All in all, an excellent meal.
Great pub meal, Great for families with the kids playground and games. Friday nights have a free face painter and the kids loved it! Staff are always friendly
Nice food very busy bistro everyone just got off spirit but service was excellent
It's a bit tired looking but the kids room was great. Meal was ok
