Bicheno Caravan Park & Take Away Foods

Me and my two friends stayed here for a night. I was surprised to see so many bad reviews after actually arriving here, but I noticed later on that all of them were about the cabins while we stayed in our own tents! Positive aspects: quiet, pretty clean, we got a spot under the sun and asked to change it to the shade and we were allowed to do so. Laundry facilities (although $3 per washing), showers $1 for 6 minutes. Take away and coffee shop at the front desk, as well as a little convenience store with basics. Good location, close to all the shops and to the beach. Negative aspects: we found the place online and saw the powered spot was $35 a night and $5 for each extra person. We were three people, so it was supposed to cost us $45. When we called them to book they tried to charge us $55 saying it was $10 extra per person. When we mentioned the website info they apologise and said $45 was ok... Only one spot with shade, the rest of the place has no trees at all.

We arrived this afternoon to a reception area full of people waiting to check-in because only one of the staff is able to perform that task, with the other staff member just standing there directing the people to wait and speak to the first lady. When I did finally get to speak to someone, she said someone else had to bring me the key, and when that finally arrived, she gave it to me with no instructions, no welcome, no introduction to the place, and only when I asked, provided me a map to where my cabin was located. Then we were faced with a literal mud bath / creek to cross to get into our cabin which was allegedly from a single rain event that morning which I assume means there is a significant drainage problem, and means you can't even leave your cabin without getting your shoes covered in stinking mud. The cabin was old and dirty, the aircon doesn't work / cool anything, and there was literally only 2 glasses, 4 bowls, and 3 tiny tea cups for our family of 5 to stay in a cabin which we paid $235 a night for, including $75 a night for the kids, and there was no bedding for the 3rd child either. I almost never write bad reviews, but I witnessed 2 poor blokes trying to get their camping site changed to one that wasn't full of mud, and they were refused a refund, so I assume there is no way I'll get one, and we're stuck here for 2 nights as the only available accommodation in Bicheno at this time of year, so the least I can do is warn others not to make the same mistake I did, and book elsewhere. I'll update this review if they actually correct any of these concerns and try to make up for these very poor first impressions. 🤔😤👎

Terriable place. Never go. Very dirty and uncomfortable. Extra dollar for shower. Never ever go, please. Only suitable with dogs, because no choice around. But much better stay just outside. Very dirty place.

Great little spot right in town. Freindly staff and good clean facilities. Stayed in powered sight so cant speak for cabins but they look nice enough but dated.

One star as the staff were friendly but honestly, I booked for 3 nights and left after 2 as the cabins were filthy with pink scunge around the taps and cob webs in the windows. The Fire alarm kept going off all night to the point where I had to rip it down, the stove didn't get hot enough and the air con didn't work. I also nearly ripped out my suspension in the unkempt driveway. I was also very concerned about the rat traps that were outside of the kitchen door. I hope they use the extra $120 I paid for my 3rd night to pay for a cleaner.

We stayed here for 1 night and made the mistake of not looking at reviews because its only 1 night right? Do yourself the favour and spend some extra money and stay somewhere else if you plan on staying in a cabin! Ours smelt like it was slowly decaying, spider webs on every window and a few hanging around inside as well.. After reading other reviews I decided against sleeping under the bed sheets and used warm clothing instead.. We did plan to cook the food we bought with us but actively chose against that when looking at the cooking utensils.. The cabin gave me the heebie jeebies and should we ever return to Tassie, this place will be actively avoided.

This would have to be the worst place i have ever stayed i was there for 21 days the only time the foreign owners made contact was to ask for money these people need to get some customer service if you want to run a business in Tasmania in the times of covid at least supply soap in the toilets then to top it of after paying for a site they charge you to have a shower if the government allows Chinese ownership please have some respect to monitor they way they run the business i wouldn't stay here if it was the last place available the standard of this place is a disgrace to the many great people that run caravan parks

Stayed in a cabin here and the curtains were moldy, one corner of the floor was sinking, there was only one extra toilet roll and there was no tea towel in the kitchen or hand towel in the bathroom. Yet it was ok for 1 or 2 nights and everything's in bike riding or walking distance but I wouldn't stay here again.

One star is far too generous. This place was disgusting & dirty, the lady was beyond rude. We paid and got in to find this out. We left. If you do one thing in Tasmania do not support this business (if you even call it a business)
