My first time to go to an Indian restaurant in Melbourne, which comes with a strong reputation of making one of the best biryanis in town. The restaurant was almost empty, so the service was pretty quick. We ordered their signature dish Dal Makhani - black lentils & red kidney beans cooked overnight with traditional spices & finished with cream & butter. I was craving for some curry, so I ordered the Goa Fish Curry - fish pieces cooked in a Goan style sauce with coriander seeds & dried coconut. And of course, this was incomplete without the Goat Biryani, along with steamed rice on the side for the curry. I have to say that their Dal & Biryani were good… as the reputation perceive them. What I didn’t enjoy was the Goan curry, as to me it was nowhere close to the authentic Goan curry. Good place for traditional Indian food though. I’d come back only for their biryani!
Hidden gem! Delicious Indian food reasonably priced served with a smile. Will visit again to satisfy my craving for Indian food.
I recently went to daana pani during evening hours, place is close to tram station.Ambiance was ok ,Food was ok,also I ordered lacha paratha and I received tandoori paratha which was half cooked,I told the girl about it ,she dint do anything and I paid for that.
Best in Melbourne. Had a wonderful time with friends in this new Indian restaurant. Karaoke available on request which is very unique feature Enjoyed a lot
Some of the best Indian food I’ve had in my travels in Australia! The flavours were authentic and the spices were perfect. The dishes (both vegetarian and non-vegetarian) had a delicious aroma and tasted just as heavenly. It almost took me back to India - if you want to try real Indian food, this is the place! Added bonuses were the ambience, the friendly customer service and the location. Not to forget, the prices were pretty decent too and totally value for money. Loved it!
The customer service at Dani Pani is world-class not to mention the decor and intimate ambience. I am in awe of how reasonably priced this place is for such an authentic fine-dining experience. I have been returning to this place nearly every week and intend to bring all of my friends and family here because it has enough space to cater for large groups without being crowded whilst also providing the opportunity for an intimate quiet dinner - I want this place to stay open forever! I honestly can say this is probably the best indian food I have ever had (not even joking)! Thanks Dani Pani staff for being so hospitable (recommending and even remembering the dishes we had last time) 🤩
Excellent food, reasonable price. Ordered online and received finger licking food on time. Added to my list of favourite restaurants :)
Unfortunately this place was almost empty when I visited yet it had graft reviews. Not that I need plenty of people to make an evening something special but it does help. The Murg Tikka was good as was the naan. Service was fast and efficient. Always smiling and eager to please. Place is wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. Alas the parking can be challenging but stick with it as spots do come up.
