Alimentari Deli

Came here for brekkie. Nicely done pancakes that came with pistachio ice cream. Also, the hash browns with spinach, poached eggs and bacon were a real treat! This place actually has a fair bit of seating and a good variety of food selections. Menu expands once the lunch menu is factored in, and I’ll be back to try the lunch for sure!

So nice! I'll have to come back to ask many times to try everything. Came here because of their beautiful cook book and brought my girlfriend for her birthday. What a treat.

I was simply shocked to have an incredible late lunch. Best Penini I've ever had. Amazing salads. Lovely staff and atmosphere. Felt like in Europe. Best deli in town!!! MUST GO

Alimentari is solid spot with a good layout, lots of seating options, and in a great location. The offerings are varied and high quality, they seem to cater to people with lots of different dietary requirements and everything looked fresh and appealing. Whether you're keen to sit down and eat, grab something on the go, or buy and freeze a meal, there is an option for you. The salads are great with good serving size options. The reason I'm not giving Alimentari five stars is due to the service that we received today. The person we ordered from told us that there was no soup on offer (we later saw a delicious looking bowl of soup served to someone seated nearby) and put us down as a takeaway order when it was quite clear that we would be dining in. It was a perplexing interchange for sure. As a result, the person who then served us our food was not set up for success however they did very little to recover from the misunderstanding; passing us our food in small to go boxes and insisting that we would have to pay extra to eat in the restaurant. Eventually we seemed to come to a compromise in which our food was given to us in the to go boxes in a bowl. I'm not quite sure what was accomplished here but it seemed to leave the server happy. As mentioned, Alimentari is a solid restaurant that I would recommend, perhaps just be wary that the serving staff may not be as attentive as expected and plan accordingly.

Used to be my regular lunchtime cafe, with tasty salads, sandwiches and wraps at a reasonable price, but these days the price of their offerings just keep going up and the size of their portions keep reducing. Just had their famous roast chicken sandwich with barely any filling at all. I've stuck it out with them for years even after the quality went downhill after Covid but I'm afraid it's time to say goodbye Alimentari, so long and thanks for all the salads, you used to be great :(

I bought a beef pie for takeaway but they had nothing to heat it up with. As I was purchasing my COLD pie, I asked 'could I please have some sauce?' Oh, no, we have nothing to give you some sauce in. Great! Would you mind telling me how much my cold pie with no sauce is? Oh yes, $8.10 Great!! Naturally, I wont be back anytime soon which is a shame because I really love the Smith St venue.

Good vibe and the food is not bad. Two star because don’t feel welcomed as new faces. We arrived before lunch peak so there were quite a few seating options. Nevertheless, were given the tiny coffee table, in the corridor, away from all windows, dark, squeezy, right next to the stairs to the bathroom. Food arrives without cutlery so have to ask for it. worry about my son will knock the glasses off the tiny table all the time.

I would have given this place 4 stars easy for years. The only thing that was touch and go was service. But quality and servings have been dropping since COVID, and prices keep going up. It's a real shame as I loved the place.

Excellent and attentive staff, despite being so busy they made us feel like we were the only table seated. The food was excellent, extremely high quality. I wish we were locals so we could come back regularly. Thanks for a great meal. Highly recommended.
