Lovely food and service, but please beware of the 'set menu' on holidays/special occasions. We went for a Valentine's Day dinner there and expected to be able to choose how much to order and how much to spend (as one usually would at a restaurant). Instead, we were given a Valentine's set menu and were thus required to get an entree, main and dessert each. On top of that, there was NO PRICE listed on the menu, so we actually didn't know how much we were spending until the bill came! (It turned out to be $74 ... EACH.) $74 was definitely a fair price for the food we received, but forcing customers to spend that much without telling them seemed over the top. What if we had budgeted a certain amount for the meal and hadn't had the cash? What if we hadn't actually wanted a three-course meal (which, as it turned out, I didn't)? I understand set menus, but usually customers are given a choice to order off the regular menu as well. At the very least they are told how much the set menu will cost! Extorting $74 each from us, without telling us at any stage (listing the prices on the menu would have been a good start, as would have informing us when we made the phone booking) made me really frustrated. The food was divine but the blatant profiteering and concealment of price really tainted the experience for me. I probably won't visit again.
Came for lunch. Had the Barramundi fish and chips with side salad for $12.90. Portion size of the fish was huge and it was well cooked. Fresh salad with a sweet chilli sauce which was surprisingly nice. Menu is rather unoriginal though with Turkish bread sandwiches, filo pastries etc. Very friendly service among seating inside with air con or outside watching the side walk of Kelvin Grove walk by.
