Dropped in for lunch - was planning to have dessert as I heard its good (although I've since learnt its loraine's patisserie and I have eaten from her) - the venue on LVL used to be LVL1/ivy and mad cow (which I quite liked) and its now this casual lunch/roastery/thai shop. Its huge encompassing all of LVL1, and you order at the 2 bars. The fitout was sort of festive but if you've been here before, its sort of at odds with the general decor of the IVY - especially the timber panelling + pastel colours. Food. We had an indian fish curry and the lamb tagine. The fish curry was $26 and my dish had very little fish in it, with rice and papaddums - the fact that it was $26, I expected more protein. Felt a little gipped in all honesty. It was an okay dish. Not special. The lamb tagine came on a plate and my friend and I both made the observation that it was not a tagine. There was hunky of lamb and it tasted fairly decent - with good moroccany flavours. Might or might not be back. Still a good venue to grab a drink but the food seemed overpriced. I was a bit underwhelmed as I think most merivale venues offer decent value and good food.

This Sub is not so bad, but if you like a water instead of Coke when you ask for a combo you need to pay one dollar more. However, it is still ok because the lunch is a bit better than some other subways I went to, Incredibly.

Bar Cupola is the perfect restaurant for a lunch-time in the city. The impressive foyer with huge artworks will seat an army. The food, coffee and service are impeccable.

Great food, great ambience, and great service We had the potato wedges which were of a generous size, delicious, and came with plenty of sweet chilli and sour cream. We also had the garlic prawn pizza which was succulent, nice, and again fairly large. We finished off with the penne carbonara which was truly delicious but by this time we were too stuffed to continue. I'd like to give a shout out to the waiter, Victor, who was extremely patient, friendly and helpful. He made sure we were comfortable and had a great evening dining at Gumtree restaurant. The restaurant is also very nice looking, having just been renovated. It was quite quiet on a Tuesday night, however this allowed us to really soak in the ambience and the water feature, as well as the plants on one side of the wall, which were stunning to look at. Half the tables were underneath a transparent glass ceiling to let in natural light. Overall, a fantastic experience and I would not hesitate to go again.

Little hand made chocolates are divine! My favourites are matcha peppermint and lavender, drinks are also excellent, I really enjoy the Elder Kefir. Great spot to grab a takeaway treat after work, staff are always friendly & helpful and there are often a few new items in the cabinet each time I visit.
