The laksa at Civic Asian Noodle House is ok- don't consider ordering anything else. Get a combination laksa or vegetarian (with extra tofu), maybe some coconut juice if you're having a big night, then take them away and eat them somewhere nicer. Almost anywhere else will do really. A large laksa will cost you $15 and the rigmarole of dealing with the pointedly difficult staff.

Cheap, and very good food. My Vietnamese friend says that he would even consider taking his mother there, which is a testament to its authenticity. Fast service, large portions, not sure what else you could ask for.
