Yoshii Omakase by Yoshii and Hyota in the new Crown Sydney. Next level dining experience, amazing attention to detail, the best produce, put together by two brilliant sushi chefs. This is the first time I have eaten sushi in Australia that compares to the experience in Japan. Brilliant! Can’t wait to go back!

Truly unique and amazing experience! Yes it took a few months to get a booking but was well worth it - you will not be disappointed! Some of the most amazing flavours and combinations I have had outside of Japan. Fresh and flavoursome dishes cooked right in front of you. The dining experience is made better by the interaction with the chefs who don’t mind explaining things to you and altering the amount of wasabi if you don’t like a large amount. Persist with trying to get a booking cause I know I’ll be going back as soon as I can!

Extremely difficult to get a reservation, but it is possible. But the upside is you don't have to wait more than a month if you can get it. It's a luxurious and intimate experience with all the expensive ingredients and at $350 it's probably the most expensive in Sydney. Go with an empty stomach and an open mind though because it's worth it to be able to interact with the chefs and food so directly. Would go again when the menu changes and I can actually get a booking.

Omakase - “chefs menu”. Great fine dining type experience. Every mouthful was delicious👍 especially if you enjoy the subtle flavours of Japanese cuisine. It’s about the ingredient. So moreish, it makes you want round 2!

I cannot fault this place. I have been to other degustation places and had omasake before but never to this standard! There is just something so magical about this experience it’s to die for. I was extremely lucky when being able to make this reservation at the beginning of January. Yes the booking system is a little flawed but doesn’t mean you need to be salty about it. This is a 10 person sitting restaurant only. Last night there was only 8. With Yoshii, you’re able to talk to him and it’s an interactive experience. The food is just next level phenomenal, by the end of it you are full and ready to go to sleep. It’s around a two hour sitting with 8 dishes including dessert, but there is a lot of food. Yoshii’s signature dish with the toothfish is just perfection. Yoshii also has a 28 year old sauce which is to die for! The presentation of all of it is amazing and just simply beautiful. The service was also impeccable, I cannot remember her name she was wearing a blue dress, but she was attentive but not overly attentive, absolutely perfect! I cannot fault this place. If you’re lucky enough to score a booking, you will not be disappointed!

A truly enjoyable meal! It was an experience with prices to match what can be found in Ginza. You will be well looked after whether you get Yoshii-san or Hyota-san as your chef. I got Yoshii-san when I visited. I was treated to some exquisite sushi. Every course was sublime! The attention to detail is here astounding.The sashimi was a work of art but no problems here demolishing it!

Haven’t been able to dine here yet so this is just a review of the experience so far . After many months of trying, I managed to get a few spots for April opening this morning. However everytime I tried to enter all my credit card details, name etc. by the end it tells me that the time is no longer avail. They should really upgrade their booking system to match the grade they put their restaurant at... So far not a pleasant experience for a fine dining restaurant.

Best Omakase in Sydney. The second high profile Omakase place to open within a year, having tried both, this wins convincingly. Similar to Kuon, it was nigh impossible to get a booking via the online website when they first opened, it took AMEX concierge a week of trying to secure this. Without giving away too much, the menu is an exquisite selection of both local and imported produce and every piece of food is delivered with absolute perfection and a careful explanation of where the key ingredients come from. The chef and diner interaction is really what gives this place the extra touch to make this a perfect dining experience. Whilst there was only 8 diners per seating (I suspect due to COVID social distancing rules), it never felt impersonal and Yoshii’s warmth and hospitality made it an intimate dining experience. Have visited the original Yoshii more than 10 years ago and glad he is back and in this particular format. Will return for the next seasonal menu. PS: Those giving 1 star because you can’t get a booking, blame it on the Crown system as they were the ones doing it.

Had an incredible omakase experience curated by Yoshii-san and Hyota-san! One of the most memorable (and delicious) omakase in Sydney. Every dish was perfectly plated with the right balance of flavour, which was complemented by the atmosphere of the restaurant with a waterfront view. I would highly recommend giving this a try - appreciate that it may be difficult to reserve a booking but I can guarantee you it is worth it. I’ve been told that the menu changes every few months so I’m looking forward to seeing what they have to offer in my next visit!
