It had a lovely atmosphere. Not too crowded for a Sunday long weekend. Staff were very professional , good delivery to table was great. Was in restaurant down right hand side of building.

Wasn’t expecting much from this restaurant, but it turned out very nice. We ordered the fried Snapper, was really good. Chips nicely fried. Salad was fresh. The atmosphere was nice and spacious and facing the river. Services was good, toilets are clean.

We visited last Sunday, for my birthday. We were seated inside, and went to order. First we discovered that there was no calamari/ squid on the seafood menu (even though the takeaway restaurant serves it and they share the same stock / kitchen), for some bizarre reason they only serve it at night. I suffer a digestive disease so large meals are difficult for me, and I wanted to order a children's serving of calamari and chips. They refused, insisting it was strictly for under 12's only - and kept on refusing to serve us the calamari at all. My brother offered to order a second kids meal to help the restaurant justify the cost, but they still refused. It was a bizarre and extremely frustrating experience. Fed up with the restaurant, we go to the other side and order take out instead. The fish and chips were extremely dry, though we were able to finally order calamari successfully. I watched as the same kitchen making the restaurant orders made our take out, utterly confused by such illogical rules that don't put the customer first. The staff were flustered and moody and incredibly unpleasant, and an older man I assume to be the boss barked loudly at staff. By the time we got the food, our moods and enthusiasm had dampened significantly. It dragged down my birthday which is upsetting. I haven't been disappointed with their food before, the last time I got take out was 2020. But they need to change the ridiculous rules and be willing to be less rigid in their menu - and work on the culture so that staff are happier overall. It starts from the top.

Great food, lovely views, friendly staff. Only drawbacks , we were brought the wrong bottle of wine to start with and i was brought pacific oysters when i ordered Sydney rock, both were rectified straight away. A shame to see not enough local wines on the wine list being so close to the Hunter Valley. A lot of French and Italian wines. I prefer to buy Aussie product and support our producers especially in these times.

Nice place but a bit chilly in winter. Esp if you didn’t book a table during busy time and have to sit outside.

A great place to come forfish & chips & to watch the pelicans. Great fenced playground next to it. Also on a bike path & close to the station. Vinnies across the road from it too. Love it.

Description

A merry old seafood joint in the best little town on Earth called Woy Woy, sitting on a jetty on Brisbane Water on the beautiful NSW Central Coast. A seafood market, take away fish & chip shop and a killer laid back restaurant. Come for a very very very casual dining experience surrounded by pelicans, boats & mangroves. Bring a smile, leave your pretensions at the door and enjoy some of freshest and most delicious seafood you'll ever eat! We're not fine dining, we're bloody good fish & chips on the water with beautiful wines to match. We look forward to seeing you at the Wharf.
