This restaurant has a nice vibe and friendly, welcoming staff who are happy to help answer questions about the meals. The vegetarian curry is very tasty, and they also have a nice selection of raw cakes and kombucha. Once I discovered this restaurant, I came back everyday I was in the area. You can tell it is run by people who care about the business and their customers.
Wow! For a place of the grid & self sufficient the food is amazing, what a hidden gem. The steak sandwich was one of the nicest ever & I don’t know what they do with their fries but they have to be the best I’ve had anywhere, especially with their tasty BBQ sauce. Also had an Asian bowl, full of flavour, nice & zesty, was transported back to Asia, so authentic. Went down great with a crisp draught beer. Well done to the couple who run this place!
Not sure how it is possible to deliver such a fantastic meal/experience in a pretty remote location. Burgers, curry and kids meals were super quality and the staff (including a lovely bloke from Brighton, UK) were terrific. If there was the opportunity to add a star would use it here.
Without a doubt, one of the best restaurants in Cape tribulation. The vibe, the ambience, the food and warm friendly ladies running the place. They have a wide variety of vegetarian and vegan options. Buddha bowl, and curry bowls are delicious. Don't forget to check out their vegan dessert collection. They are made from locally sourced, fresh ingredients, free of refined sugar and dairy. The wife had the chocolate Berry slice. It was so good she wouldn't share it with me.
We went to all the cafe's in this area and like this cafe very much. Very nice setup inside out, good bar and coffee. This place is very peaceful and cafe lady is very friendly.
We enjoyed a lovely dinner at Whet. The pork belly and scallop entree was especially delicious! Our mains (prosciutto wrapped chicken and the ramen) were also really good quality. The deck has a lovely atmosphere. The best lunch/dinner option for those staying in Cape Tribulation who want a really great meal.
Came with some friends and they were all absolutely stoked with the food - no photos since we ate it all so quick. Steak sandwiches, burgers and chips were to die for, and reasonably priced given the location. Book a table if you’re planning on visiting though, they were turning people away by the dozen once it filled up.
We stopped here for delicious coffee and cake. Thank you for introducing us to Raw Gems cakes, yummy!
Sitting here after a very tasty meal I am compelled to write this review. This place is perfect in every way. Taste/food, ambience, service and most of all value, Whet Cafe has it in all. If you are on this part of the world you must stop in for a meal. Love your work Cloe.
No food for us. Apparently 'our order didn't print out' and by the time this was recognised the kitchen was closing and they'd run out of some of the items. Food we saw looked pretty good and was recommended by our host but our waitress (who offered us complimentary dessert as we paid for our wine on leaving) said 'it happened frequently'. Best make your own decision!
