Two Wise Fish

Great shop in the Gold Coast area. Always friendly people, definitely going there again!

We were looking for our last bit of local seafood before heading home and had a craving for "fish n chips". Found some good reviews and stopped here for lunch on the way to the airport. Had some basics, whiting, prawn cutlets and sea scallops. The prawns were big, meaty and delicious, the scallops were cooked perfect as well but the star was the whiting, cooked perfect with a thin crispy crunch batter. Is also licensed BYO so managed to get a couple of glasses to wash it down with some left over wine we had from the night before. Quaint little venue, fantastic friendly staff, really warrants 5 stars for food and service, but had to take a little off the score because you're sitting in a little shopping centre carpark.

Such a fantastic fish and chip shop went there tonight was a bit busy but the food was exceptionally good.

Got a pretty big order. Chips were good. But fish was over cooked and very dry. Fish tasted like dry fish fingers. Calamari was over cooked and way to hard and rubbery. $2.30 for a potato scallop which was barely bigger than a 50cent coin. One tiny thin slice of potato for that price is ridiculous. We were after lovely fish and chips and had heard great things from this place but it was very disappointing.

If you feel like blowing $20 on overcooked fish and small portions this is your place. Easily the most expensive, poorest quality and smallest serving of fish and chips I’ve had possibly ever. Won’t be coming back

Ordered around 6.10pm on a Saturday arvo, informed of a 20 minutes wait time (which is absolutely fine). Disappointed to receive out order almost 45 minutes later. The kitchen was understaffed. Despite the poor service time, it was a great meal. Fish was cooked great and chips were crunchy and fresh. We'd return, but pick our times a little wiser.

Grilled flake was three small pieces of fish that could not and did not taste like flake. I have no idea what the potato scallops were meant to be, but oily and almost coated in panky crumbs?! Sons calamari was overcooked and chips undercooked. Expensive and will not be returning.

Nothing short of completely sensational service, value and quality of food. This is easily the best fish and chips on the coast. Enjoy.
