The Tradies

It's an alright place, like you come just to not feel like you have to be looking amazing or in a fancy free place. the pokies can be fun but some of the people are a bit bogan but like that's pokies for you.

My friend's jacket was stolen once, the security couldn't find the footage until now. Went again with a different friend, we both have memberships but were stopped by the receptionist and the security guard because they wanted to make sure we are members, which I think is fair. However, on our way out, the same friend got bumped into by a drunk guy who probably was high after drugs as well (saw him walking past the security and receptionist without being stopped to check his membership). It all happened within a few steps away from the receptionist, and that night wasn't busy. Was extremely disappointed by this, they stopped us but didn't stop that guy, so were they selectively strict or just afraid of a guy with bloodshot eyes who was walking wobbly? Pretty unprofessional in my opinion. Had to tell the front desk about the guy before they actually took action. They have a restaurant that opens until quite late though (until about midnight if I am correct), so if you're ever hungry, you can drop by. Food is not bad.

A clean, modern, spacious club. Not you usual club. Join up to save heaps even if you are only here for one or two days.

More steered towards pokies. Service was great though.

Ordered room service from the Quality Hotel that's apart of the Tradies pub/Essence restaurant. It took an hour for a chicken risotto to be delivered to my room, when I called to ask what was going on they said the order was placed only 30 minutes prior. I'm not sure why it took half an hour for my order to even be placed? But then my meal was at my room within a couple minutes of my phone call to reception. I received my dinner without the drink I ordered, while the staff member went and got me the drink I tried the risotto. Zero flavour, the risotto itself was overcooked, claggy and just a solid mess. The chicken was clearly not fresh, and again no flavour and tasted frozen/reheated. The whole meal looked like a dogs breakfast and one of those meals you just know you will feel sick and horrible if you eat it. I had to send it back. Even for a pub meal, that standard and quality of service was incredibly poor, putting pub meals to shame! :(

Busy but probably because it's pretty good food.

Good value for money.... Worth a go

The Dickson Tradies has and always will be one of my favourite clubs in canberra to go to. Outstanding service and food and a really good friendly vibe.

Underground free parking available fro the members. Good service.
