As always yum!
Pretty good food but very bad customer service.
Best Yum Cha in town hands down.
Average yumcha. Extremely busy on the weekend with a line forming from 11:30am. The portion sizes were smaller than other places and the dumplings were over-steamed. On the upside they had a decent menu selection and the manager was attentive and nice.
The yum cha here was average - expensive and small serving sizes especially with the cha siu bao. It is the smallest cha siu bao I've ever seen. The are busy but that's no reason for poor customer service. I will call out a particular waiter whose name I do not know but he's a 5 ft 6 skinny little midget with glasses and a small head. He can't communicate properly and clearly and has trouble explaining to us that we don't need to order from the menu, and the e can just wait for the trucks to come around. There are certain menus that need to be ordered. He then took the menu and in doing so, caused rearranging of our chopsticks as well. He does need to be taught some customer service manners. Not to mention there is no evidence of social distancing with the arrangement of the tables. There is hardly any room to squeeze between the dining tables. Never coming back here again until I see the back of him. Yours truly @fooderarri
Really nice traditional place with a wonderful staff and lovely meal options. There was a distinct absence of a lazy Susan which would have been greatly appreciated but it certainly didn't ruin the experience. Overall a well priced place that I'd be happy to dine in again.
Nice fresh Cantonese style Chinese food. Yum cha is terrific
Yum cha from the menu, not from carts during the week. Tasty.
I absolutely loved this place until I went recently with my partner and realized they're running a scam. They charged me for 8 meals when we only had 5 and when I had returned for my rightful refund the lady at the desk told me we ate 5 large meals and it's why it was more expensive, this was after I demanded to have my docket looked at again and saw the extra 3 ticks that came from nowhere. Out of my $40 refund she returned $15.80?! No apology and said she'll remember my face next time I come in for a discount.. If you're going to go, make sure you check your docket first before paying. I've been to The Scholar a few times and the prices are always dramatically different.
Been here a couple of times recently. The lobster was fabulous, cooked really well and priced as you would expect. Had this on both times we visited. The roast duck was also good. The stir fried Chinese veg had way too much garlic, but otherwise tasted ok. Tried a couple of the clay pot dishes (aubergine and tofu one and a mushroom one), both were very tasty.
