118 Military Rd 2089, Sydney
Eating out under the tree, in the sun in their courtyard is very enjoyable. It's a big pub with 4 or 5 different areas. Long and good menu. I enjoyed my mussels in white wine sauce today.
This is one of the few hotels in Sydney that you can't miss. The food is amazing, the environment is great, the tree with the million lights is just something that could be on a postcard. However, in our experience the most important factor that contributed to make our experience an outstanding one was the amazing service from one the restaurant's staff, she really made the difference from being a good experience to an unforgettable one. Her name is Sienna and I'm very grateful for her outstanding service. It's not rare to have a good service from a good restaurant in Sydney, and if you think about it, a restaurant may spend hundreds of thousands of dollars in decoration, menus, events, etc. However, nothing compares to the satisfaction that a customer gets from such an amazing service provided by a staff that goes above an beyond their customers to guarantee them a good time. Thank you Sienna I want to congratulate you for taking pride in your work and making our experience in the Oaks an unforgettable one.
Great selection of beer and wine with food choices to keep the whole family satisfied.
Supposed to be one of the best sports bars in Sydney. Show up to watch game 7 nets bucks which is listed as playing live on their website. Told they're not open. Website is wrong.
Great place for pub grub, mussels were great and the tomahawk was good too, but could’ve been cooked a little better
OK so the steaks are good but the consensus from all four of us is that the sides are rubbish. Get the Cream of Spinach, really good creamy truffle mash, decent onion rings, solid serve of mushrooms and this would be one of Sydney’s best steak joints. Message us when you have the sides together and we’ll be back. PS. Don’t run out of Oysters by 7pm.
Great atmosphere especially in summer. Staff here are great. Food is good too. Getting given a buzzer to go back to the bar to collect a cocktail was a bit off putting though.
So this place was fantastic tonight. We had no booking, and for north side Sydney, in these areas, that means on a Friday night its Impossible to get a table. The oaks, however was incredibly welcoming and ensured we had a table. The food menu is basic but consistent and the drinks list is not limited. If you cant find a cocktail favourite on the menu, they are more often than not, still willing to indulge your requests. The oak tree (its name sake) is as beautiful as ever and the out door heaters keep all areas pleasant all year round. If you are a sporting fan, you can indulge in the plasures of sport indoors and outdoors due to its magnificent outdoor screening area.
We were sitting at a table for 3 hours and without notice we were asked to move. They take bookings without telling their existing customers that their table is taken. Try better!
Dined on a Sunday night and used their online booking system to reserve a table; was simple and easy. Booked at 7pm so wasn’t as busy but still a decent crowd. Had the 1.4kg tomahawk steak for $95 which is an excellent deal; comes with green beans, roasted potatoes and choice of 3 sauces as a standard. Took about 45 mins to cook the beast so be patient. The sticky date pudding was also excellent. The place has such a great vibe, definitely worth checking out for a drink and meal that is very reasonably priced.
