U 1 197 Katoomba St 2780, Katoomba
Walked inside to be told that they were booked out. Several tables free with no reserved signs on any. Staff didn't even bother to look at us while telling us. Byeeeee.
One of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. Took well over an hour for the food, which was mediocre at best. Surely a bacon and pumpkin risotto would have bacon in it but nope, guess they didn't get that memo. Ordered two burgers, definitely went to the wrong table first, only for the mistake to then be realised. The burgers were removed, taken to the kitchen and brought to us 30 seconds later. I asked if they were the same burgers only to met with a paltry assurance of "nah, we made sure they didn't touch them and we cleaned them" what does that mean? There did not seem to be any manager in sight which left the poor serving girl having to apologise to everyone, because I assure you - other people waited an hour or more and then just left after they got their money back Oh, and why did one of the two chefs leave in the middle of the lunch rush when the orders were already well behind? Because this establishment is a joke and horribly run. Go literally anywhere else, or if there's no other options? Just skip the meal, because the feeling of hunger is way better than dining at this hole
Sunday morning, 10.30am ish. Busy period right? You would think there’d be more staff on. Was told the wait for food was 30min, ended up taking an hour. And it even took about 30-45min for our coffees! Food was reasonably priced but very mediocre.
We ordered, sat outside and waited over 45 minutes and the meals were not even started. Had to go inside and ask where they were and the woman said they would be another 5 to 10 minutes. Asked for a refund and left. Avoid the place at all costs. Over an hour of our lives we won't get back.
Terrible food the service wasn't great the people were nice but not very helpful when we walked inside the building there was no one to greet us and show us where to sit so we just sat down ourselves. The tables were fithy I dont think that anyone cleans in that place. The food was slow we had to wait about an hour before our food came. Ordered 3 burgers and a side of chips for our group and the burgers were terrible burnt buns, bacon tasted bitter and undercooked, we got about 9 chips on our plate and all for $21 which is a total rip off. Then halfay through our food the chef decided that he/she had to leave the resturant and they had to kick the new customers out saying they were not serving food and this poor 16 year old girl had to deal with everything in the cafe. This terrible food has given me food poisoning and the hatters cafe is seriously unhygenic and definatly will never be going back there again. food is terribly over priced disgusting and terribly run. for anyone looking for a place to eat dont even bother eating there made a huge mistake going there I would rather have skipped the meal then eat then eat their food
Service good. Staff friendly. Scrambled eggs very poor quantity for price.would not return.
Waited over an hour for very average food . No bacon on the pumpkin and bacon rissoto. Chef knocked off in the middle of a rush with many orders to fill . Manager /owner was not on site leaving complaints to be dealt with by a 16 year old girl who could do nothing but apologise. Other diners left due to the wait. Others sent back their food. Remaining chef handled food with no gloves. Which is awful even not in a pandemic but unforgivable at the moment. Our burgers were delivered to the wrong table. Taken in back for 30 seconds then brought to us and when questioned we were informed "no we made them fresh" . Would not recommend to anyone ever.
Over half an hour of waiting, awful, over cooked, and tasteless food, highly overpriced. There is only one small piece of bread in a $23 big breakfast! Please don’t enter this cafe!
Perfectly good small town cafe food, with friendly service. It's the local cafe down your street, assuming you live in a small town or neighbourhood without a chain store cafe, and that's its charm and strength. Nothing that will shock or surprise you in the food, but friendly, well made local food. Done. Nice one.
A very classic cafe with a menu that you can’t go wrong with! Very accommodating for Gluten Free options, you need to just ask. Coffee is okay. Food was delicious!
