We stopped here for breakfast and enjoyed an amazing meal that was delicious and clearly made with love. The scone was really well made and the eggs were delightful, especially given the ambience of the town. Stop by and enjoy !

Fresh, local and well thought out food. Okay ingredients were fantastic. The bread was very high-quality. I had black rice pudding for breakfast. I was very dubious but it was delicious. It had coconut cream, bananas, black glass clean, and salted nuts. It all went together beautifully. My husband had sausage and eggs and toast and everything was cooked perfectly. Our coffees and tea came quickly. Friendly service.

Words cannot express how much I love The General Cafe. I try and go there every weekend and spend all week looking forward to it and dreaming about what I'll order (no joke). Every single item on their menu is delicious! The quality is unwaveringly high and the specials are always exciting, creative and scrumptious. The service is amazing - very attentive and friendly no matter how busy it gets. I'm always greeted with a smile and provided with an enthusiastic and detailed run-through of the specials/menu. You can tell that everyone working there has a passion for good food and wants to make sure all their patrons have the best experience possible. I highly recommend trying all their baked goods - especially the scones which I can confidently say are the best I've ever had (sorry Nan). The bread is incredible so I would also recommend buying a loaf (or two, or three) to take home. It's a beautiful cafe that has become my oasis of good food and lovely people. Kangaroo Valley wouldn't be the same without it.

Loved the fresh buttery scones here so much that I had to return the following day for another serve. Also enjoyed the pumpkin tartine and leaf tea served in a pot.

Everything about our experience was fantastic. We arrived just before open, and although we were happy to wait, we were welcomed inside by very friendly staff. The coffee was amazing, as was the food. Clearly made with love and care. Great cafe, awesome vibe, highly recommend!

Arrived on a Saturday morning was able to sit outside with three people. Order coffee, juice and x2 Loral Special and Kung Fu Eggs. Didn't have almond milk as an option for coffees which was strange. Service was friendly and fast. Food was fresh and tasty. There is a 12% surcharge on weekends. So it made $35 each for breakfast. Nice local vibe and good selection of food. Great local produce and bread inside. Pastry cabinet was amazing. Best option on the main street.

Pleasantly surprised by this cafe! The fresh food was so sweet and delicious, the flavours were fantastic and so filling without feeling too full. Would 100% recommend stopping by and getting a variety of the menu.

A really great little cafe attached to a local general store on the main street. I ordered the chef's omelette and my mate ordered the a kim chi omelette - both were excellent!

Brunch-goers needn't despair- The General cafe has a ever-changing menu of seasonal, local and organic eats and the best brew in town. Sit out on the back veranda, snuggle up inside and enjoy a chefs omelette with toasted hazelnuts or the chefs wife stoneground organic sourdough baked that very morning with some freshly made jam. Grab a kombucha to go: the cafes house-made blends are one of a kind and not to be missed. These two chefs have done the hard yards with owning their own 2 hatted and best regional fine dining restaurant for years, now they have re-emerged, dropped the hats and offer their new community a more casual food affair.
