The Fireplace Restaurant

The friendliness and service of all staff was impeccable. Two succulent and delicious steaks were delivered to our table within 5 minutes of ordering. The food was cooked to perfection. I can't rate more highly, but I can and will be back.

The atmosphere and service were excellent, especially our waiter who was extremely professional. However the potatoes that came as a garnish and as a side dish with my steak were inedible, dry and tasteless. This was a disappointment because these potatoes made up over half the meal. If I was to order here again I would stay away from all potatoes.

Booked a table for our belated honeymoon/baby moon. The steaks were cooked to perfection, accompanied be very tasty sides. The waiter and the waitress were both attentive and extremely friendly. Will probably extend our stay in Queensland just to dine here again. Highly recommended.

Great service and food. Staff were super accommodating and friendly and treated us to a complimentary drink to help us celebrate our honeymoon. We will definitely be back.

We had dinner here last night. The atmosphere was beautiful, the staff were amazing, the food was perfect and the wine selection was fantastic! We will definitely be back again and highly recommend to go here

Delicious food and attentive service. We celebrated my partners birthday with the six course degustation with matching wines. Servings were the most generous I've ever seen for a degustation, in both food and wine. We seriously struggled to get through it all, I could barely eat anything beyond the third course, but still thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The Moreton Bay bugs and the steak were just delicious!

Had dinner with my partner at The Fireplace last week. I have stayed at this resort numerous times, and had never dined there before. My partner and I booked the table via reception. There was a cancellation and were lucky enough to get in earlier than expected. The restaurant is not as cosy as I had anticipated. The tiled floor makes it quite noisy, especially as the restaurant was nearly full. The female wait staff was a little snippy when my partner went to order the wine (and was told our first choice was not available), but thankfully her attitude got better. The scallops entree was lovely, my partner had the duck liver pate which was tasty. We both had the same main dish - the prawns/bug with the linguine. It was a generous serve, but could have done with more seafood in it for the price paid (more pasta than seafood). We did not have dessert. Overall, the meals were ok, but for the price, staff attitude and ambience, I unfortunately won't be in a hurry to return there.

Had the degustation menu. The atmosphere was cosy and the service was great. However the food was below our expectation. I'm not saying the food was bad or the cooking was slack. Since the key selling point is the woodfire cooking, the restaurant has to use woodfire wherever possible especially for its mains. This somehow limits the ability of the chef in presenting the food and renders the mains not as impressive as other mains at the same price range. The "woodfire" flavour is surely lovely but I don't think it justifies the high prices.
