28 South St 2142, Granville
Best of the best
+ Venue size is suitable for large group gatherings + Wait staff taking orders were attentive and friendly + Food brought to table promptly + Conveniently close to train station - Breakfast menu is standard. Bruschetta was ok. - The wait staff behind the counter who processed the payment wasn't very friendly, warm.
The steak was nice where it was cooked medium but was more like medium well. It was a Monday night so maybe not the most attentive staff. Salad order was missed. Had to ask for it again, delivered at the end, and no cutlery or plates offered. The fries with the steak are wedges, written as hand cut fries. Don't expect French fries. Wouldn't consider it as value for money. Zucchini flowers and fried bread are spectacular 👌
It isn't too bad. Beef rib cooked perfectly and soft, the sauce is nice with the beef. Serving is generally so small and really overpriced. It is still worth to visit if you live in inner west and don't want to travel too far for a bit fancier western food.
Great coffee, and good menu. Friendly staff. Yummy food. Lots of parking around, also have a parking lot at the back available for customers. Granville is lucky to have Butcher's Block locally available.
We held a surprise birthday dinner for my partner here. It was amazing. The food was great - we had the steak, the salmon, the pork burger, chicken wings, Wagyu beef, calamari rings, and sweet potato chips. They all tasted good and cooked to perfection - we had orders from medium rare to well-done within our group. Great ambience. The place was not crowded because it was a weeknight. A special thank you to the staff, for facilitating the surprise. From the food to the cake and the overall service and hospitality.
I would love nothing more than to give a negative review; and keep Butchers Block all for myself and a well kept secret. However this cafe is spectacular. The service is always excellent, and it is consistently swift, the big wooden tables are comfortable and the food is delicious. We vary our orders and have found that the savory food does outshine the sweeter items on the menu; but often buy from the cake bar to take home also. It's not the cheapest place but is standard Sydney brunch prices and if you are discerning about your eggs benedict you must try - it is outstanding!
Had birthday dinner with some friends, 6 people in total, spent around $400 for dinner and drinks, no dessert. Felt welcomed, seated immediately (booking made prior), given menu and offered drinks, service was timely. The food itself was great, cooked beautifully, tasty, good sized portions. Everyone in our group was happy with the service. They had a DJ (Friday night). Great ambiance and a relaxed atmosphere. Staff are friendly and willing to help. Parking is hard to get on the street but they have a private parking lot 5 minutes walk away.
Staff are excellent. Service is excellent. Very pleasant atmosphere. Food is below average. Advice: Change the Chefs and if your fish isn't fresh, don't serve it.
I highly recommend this place every time I come here they make me feel very welcomed and the food there is amazing
