Supernormal

Supernormal is a barn of a place, loud and packed, but the service doesn't miss a beat. The menu is explained quickly, there's no problems dealing with dietary issues, the food comes out fast, and it's superb. The menu here is share plates - small dishes and larger meals all made to share around the table. We had no trouble finishing our meal in the allotted 2 hours, but also never felt rushed. And the staff were superb - great understanding of the food, and wine, and recommendations were spot on. Our favourite Melbourne restaurant.

Supernormal offers a truly super-flavourful diming experience. A great variety of unique and inspiring dishes on offer, with the lobster rolls everyone was talking about before we even ordered, and the delicious highlight that was dessert. With a fusion menu offering something memorable to be on your plate, Supernormal is sure to entice you to come back.

Majority of the food we had was uh.. Super Normal. It was okay-good, not memorable at all. HOWEVER, what was not super- normal but rather impeccable was their famous lobster rolls- packed suprisingly with generous amounts of juicy lobster meat sandwiched between slightly crispy, buttery brioche buns and paired with a great sauce. I've had many at specialty lobster roll joints but this place outdoes all and is truly THE BEST. Service is wonderful.

Wow! I didn't have the lobster roll but my family say it was amazing But the Wagu steak I can't explain how amazing it was. So perfectly well cooked! And wherever sauce came with it (sauce in photo) HAD to have crack in it- amazing! Noodles delicious. The lamb was huge more then enough for 2-3. Had a lovely lemon sake was so nice we ordered a bottle when we got home. Worth the money and would go again

Amazing place! Great selection of food with modern take on Japanese cuisine. Flavours are perfectly balanced. Staff are lovely. Honestly, never had a bad experience here. It does get busy so book in advance, lunchtime has lines of people waiting. I want to go back just writing this.

Very popular venue featuring a unique casual dining experience. A range of interesting well-prepared dishes on offer. We had the banquet with the fish option. Most dishes were well prepared and featured unique combinations of flavours and textures. Service team was friendly and very helpful. Memorable

One of the best dining experiences I've ever had.

We opted for the $75 set menu after countless recommendations to have a dinner at Supernormal and it exceeded our expectations. All dishes were fresh, delicious and perfectly sized. The Lamb and kingfish were standouts. Fantastic aesthetic, vibe and service - would return immediately!
