Was a last minute booking but so glad the rush ended here! The bed and room - wow. Best night sleep ever! Great staff. Very clean room and well presented. I'd say more but it would mean on my next visit to Perth the chances of getting back in this awesome place might be reduced. Beautifully restored heritage building.

Last Friday night, Feb. 2023 Myself and my husband Went at 6pm For dinner there. Both ordered the scotch fillet to at $45 Each And we were both highly disappointed. The meat was tough, And particularly hard to eat. Myself I actually had to spit most of it out. Couldn't chew or swallow it. We asked for well done And it was pink and some what what Uncooked. We both complained to the waiter And clearly He couldn't see the problem. He actually asked me Why I couldn't eat it??? Explained again It was not to our satisfaction. At this extreme point of pricing It is not acceptable. It is a pub Not fine dining. The quality of dinner was very poor. We will not ever be returning here to dine. Also the chips were soft and soggy on the dinner plate and The salad was tasteless. Sorry, But very disappointed Customers. Feb. 2023.

Am always happy to dine here. Got the Stirling Beef Burger (shown in the photos) was delicious. The bread was nice and soft on the outside and had a light crispness where they had toasted it. Ingredients tasted nice and fresh too. Definitely was the best chips I’ve had there tonight. Am a little sad you no longer have the lamb shanks on the menu anymore though, it used to be my favourite thing to get when dad and I dined there. But other then that I definitely recommend people try the buffalo wings (delicious 🤤), the garlic bread for sure and the the Stirling Beef Burger 😁

Went for a work function. Food was good, one of the mains was not what was advertised and there were only 2 bar staff with 3 work functions, and general customers too. I think that's just a bit of bad planning on their part. My friends ordered some cocktails about an hour and a half in just to be told that because there was only two staff on, they couldn't make them anymore. All in all, was good fun but there is room for improvement 🙂

Edited: There's a huge sign advertising $6 pints of 'running with thieves' lager so I ordered one and was charged $10... figured I'd ordered the wrong beer 'til I checked the sign on the way out... turned out I ordered the right beer but didn't know I had to download the app... see the pub's reply below which is an impressively good response to my original review. And they have a very nice beer garden, too!
