Stillwater Restaurant

Fantastic dining experience. As soon as you enter this door (and get out of the cold) the warm and charming space invites you in, almost as much as the warm and inviting staff who greet you like long lost friends. This sets the scene for the wonderful meal to come. The way to go is to share lots of dishes and enjoy a range of what they have to offer. Unfortunately they don't do the degustation menu any more that they use to, but please ask for it, I'm hoping they bring it back real soon. Every dish was a delight, and the Sommelier was able to make some great wine recommendations to really enhance the meal. I can highly recommend the espresso martini to have with dessert.

I'm always a bit iffy about going to restaurants where I actually don't know what I'm ordering based on the descriptions... I kinda feel like I'm paying more for fancy words than something that is satisfying. I know.. such an uncultured swine.. BUT our experience was fantastic. Yep - still wasn't 100% on what exactly I was ordering but I can definitely say it was worth every cent. I had lamb rump and a fantastic chocolate dessert and I could happily had more! Another thing to note.. the service was the highlight though. Our waiter was sassy, fun but always top end professional. Our table had some interesting discussions "shanking anyone?" But our waiter was very clever in her dealings with us! Thank you very much!

Quite possibly the best restaurant I’ve ever visited. The food is exquisite - the service flawless! We enjoyed every morsel of every meal, and whilst the portion sizes were generous and we left delightfully satisfied, we were already thinking of when we can come back to Tasmania to visit the restaurant and try other dishes! Few times in my life I have received the level of customer service we got at Still Water Seven. Chris and his team went above and beyond to ensure our stay was just perfect! we were super impressed with the design of the rooms, the comfort of the bed and pillows and how cosy and unique is the place but this in honesty was not our biggest highlight, our biggest highlight was the incredible attention you get from the guys at Seven, from the moment you enter you are received in such a personalised and welcoming way. Chris and team give attention to every little detail and anywhere you go inside Stillwater everyone knows your name and gives you a smile - For me this is more valuable than anything else! I will with no doubt come back a thousand times to experience the awesomeness of this place! Thank you once again Chris and Stillwater Seven Team!

Sublime. The food was so fresh and delightful. It will be our reason for returning to Tasmania. Amazingly accommodating. They made us feel like we were the only ones in the room. Blissful!!! They even gave us two little chocolate treats after paying the bill.

Accommodation was 5 stars, the mini bar was like a lolly shop for adults. Food modern , well executed and delicious including breakfast 5 stars,service 5stars. Think that sums up our stay

We dropped in on a public holiday and had lovely service, food was really enjoyable although we had a bit of a wait for it to come out. Not unreasonable, given how booked they were. Small plates are small and prices aren't cheap but the quality was wonderful. Great, stylish layout too

Stillwater is generally reckoned to be the best restaurant in northern Tasmania and is worth visiting on any trip to Launceston. The menu is set out as snacks, entrees, mains and dessert, and the 3 courses for $90 is good value, considering the quality of the food. Scallops were a great “snack” and the Tiger prawn dumplings surprised with the presentation and had a nice bite to them. Mains were perhaps the least impressive of the dishes but were still enjoyable. Beware if you order the potatoes as a side, as they are almost a main in their own right. In January the place was packed, and staff did a good job changing tables, taking orders and delivering meals. The venue is superb – a historic building on the waterfront, and within walking distance of most parts of the city, and there’s plenty of parking right outside or on the street, if you’re here for dinner.

Great location by the river. Superb food and service. Casual, elegant. Fish and chips ... unbeatable! The fish was cooked to perfection and I'm sure the chef weaves a spell over the chips ... 😋 Service was excellent - attentive, friendly and entertaining without being obtrusive. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here.

Possibly my favorite restaurant in Tasmania. The food was impressive in terms of both presentation and taste, and the service and setting helped create a great experience.
