South Society Cafe Eatery

Based on the good reviews I decided to give it a try. The food was excellent and so was the service (staff was super nice). However I believe their prices are a bit high for what they offer. Be prepared to spend around $17 for a regular size brekkie (plus whatever drink you have).

Tasty food. Price is reasonable considering what you're getting. Slight mix up with one of our meals but corrected fairly quickly

Alternative staff, lot of choices on the menu cause they do all day brunch, reasonable price with quality food. Very Very nice coffee.

I like the toast of the scrambled egg but can't finish the egg

I liked brunch here, and the regular Burger is good, the softshell crab Burger was disappointing though. Initially it was good, but I got hit with a massive mouthful of a strong fishy taste rather than the sweet crab taste I was expecting. I tried to finish but I couldn't. Service was great the first and second time. 3rd took me ages to get the attention of the waitress. She kept walking past and not paying attention to the customers. So it felt like I was being ignored.

The food was a disappointment. The burger was very small. I ordered fish and chips expecting to have the traditional fish and chips but cafe style, only to receive food that looked like home made. Blackened fish with few chips. I am not that good at cooking but this food was worst than mine. Their breakfast I guess is good and so is their cofffee but do not bother with lunch. My husband's salmon was cheaper than mine but his food was ok but the boiled potatoes had no flavour. Overall it was an absolute disappointment.

Used to be excellent. Has taken a serious downturn since either a change of ownership or major staff re-haul. Whatever has changed behind the scenes, the place is mainly a disappointing reminder of what it used to be. The main problem now boils down to poor customer service, which is all the more apparent given that staff in the past have been excellent at South Society.

Ordered a takeaway coffee and roll. The waitress proceeded to serve other customers, then deliver coffee, then deliver food, take table orders, completely forgot about getting my food ready. Another staff member had to organise it when my coffee was ready

My partner and I used to love coming to this place. We had our usuals and the staff seemed nice and relatively attentive. However recently they have changed their menu which is now less and less appetizing; and the staff seem more and more apathetic. The last time we went I could not order my usual (which was beautiful) because they had taken it off the menu & the chiefs would not make it even when we asked. I ordered something different which was ok but an item I had ordered was missing from my meal. The waiter apologized for the mistake and promised to provide the missing part of the meal free of charge. When it came time to pay, I was charged for it. It's such a shame but we won't be coming back here. We we're loyal customers but if you don't treat your loyal customers right, you lose them.

South Society is our Saturday brunch go to place .... it's a relaxed fun place, usually pretty busy! Great coffee! Great food! I recommend the chilli scrambled eggs & anything with the maple bacon 😋😋
