Shinmachi

Overall experience was good. You order on a tablet and they instantly start making the food which is cool and speeds things up a lot. We tried the vegan menu, the noodle dishes and fried vegetables were great. Would love to go back and try what’s on their main menu. The decor and booth seating layout meant you could have a private meal but still enjoy the warm atmosphere.

Great service, the ramen I had was the classic one which they annotated thick and strong broth. And it was thick and strong! Too thick and too strong for me. Maybe not that one if you don’t like thick and strong. Otherwise they have good vide and great location environment. I would recommend here with a group of friends, night out. Window seats seem like a nice option. Can look down the street while eating.

Have been to this restaurant at least 5 or 6 times and it has never failed to disappoint. Outstanding food and beautifully presented dishes serves a great credit to all that are involved in its creation, truly one of the most enjoyable dining experiences in Sydney. A sincere thank you to everyone involved.

One of the best ramen joints in Sydney! The tonkotsu broth is rich with bone umami and also thick, but not gluggy. The interior design is a fusion of contemporary and traditional Japanese, and the ambience is warm and welcoming. Loved their dinnerware too - very unique and adds to the overall experience!

Strongly recommended the yuzu sake. Nice N fresh yuzu flavour. The half-boiled eggs are amazing!!! Definitely will come back next time.

Nice food, nice view if you sit next to the windows. A bit too salty for me.

I don’t know why it’s taken me so long to try this place. I love the spot, looking down on King St. The booths at the windows are the prime position. You order via tablet which is fun and the food came out so fast, like we got our kingfish sashimi tacos in less than 2 minutes. Really fresh food and attentive service.

Fantastic ramen! Great service and I thought this letter is very sweet. Definitely will come back again, we enjoyed our lunch very much.

When traveling still seems impossible for the foreseeable future, having dinner at Shinmachi was like being in Tokyo for the evening. We arrived without booking but got a table quickly. We ordered sushis, sashimi with sake and all was delicious. Friendly staff and fast service, for a very good price.
