In my experience I found this one of the best Russian styled restaurant in Sydney with delicious food, dances and a great atmosphere They have live music ,superstar singers. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. They also have cultural dishes such as Kyrgyz, Uzbek, Georgian and of course Russian foods with a reasonable price. The seats in this beautiful place are as comfortable as going to sleep. I had booked a large Banquet twice this year and everyone enjoyed with their service and food. I strongly recommended to others. Many thanks to Sahara Restaurant’s staffs. I will come again sometime soon!!!

Showed up and perused the menu only for the decorumless owner, dressed in jeans and a three dollar Kmart top which appeared to be one size too small, not to even bother looking up from his iPad. We did not expect to be served by him. He made patronising comments before we even had a chance to sit down, ignored me at the table when I asked him whether the menu had fresh juice four times, DID NOT apologise for the hair in my chip bowl, rather opted to take it silently and run away immediately, DID NOT offer to discount the price off of the chip bowl or give any solutions to rectify the situation, despite being the owner of the restaurant. Earlier on we signalled him just to request the menu back and for a straw for my partners drink. He handed us a menu and ran away immediately. I had thought he’d forgotten the straw so I kindly gestured at the drink from a distance. When he saw me he pointed in the direction of the one other waiter on duty and tried to tell us that the waiter was coming... from four metres away. I an open air environment and a soft spoken voice. Why he had delegated such a trivial task to someone else is anybody’s guess. He only approached us when the waiter came with the straw, to tell us that “the waiter is on his way”. I was not given the chance to say that we did not hear him. My partner went outside for a cigarette and the owner had the audacity to approach me whilst I was SITTING BY MYSELF to try and explain himself. His “explanation” consisted of repeating what he had said previously WHILST TALKING OVER THE TOP OF ME. He did not pause to let me speak. The highlight of my evening was this man telling me that my partner had taken the straw thing personally. Judging from that attitude and his lack of basic server or social skills it was very apparent that he was projecting. I could see that his ineptitude had put considerable strain on his staff as the second server on duty had to continuously check over his shoulder to make sure both his AND the owners sections were adequately taken care of. His stress was palpable. The food was absolutely delicious and my heart goes out to the kitchen and wait staff who deal with this saboteur on a daily basis. It’s normally against my philosophy to complain (first ever google review) but ultimately how hard is it to listen, take orders, speak clearly and not make rude unnecessary comments. The owner was also twiddling with the lighting settings at our table for no reason at one point. At the end of the night it came as no surprise that the lovely server on duty was the one to process our bill, apologise and discount the hairy dip platter.

Went to Sahara with my husband for a lazy Sunday lunch, we ordered for Garlic Chicken with chips and Chicken Smish... the quality & quantity of the food was really good, and the waiting staff was cordial and helped us choose our food... I personally not a big fan of Turkish food and my knowledge of it is limited to snack packs available in every nook and corner of Sydney... Sahara definitely helped in changing that perspective.... I am taking off one star as I think the food was bit overpriced.... we spent about $65 for the order with two coffees
