Restaurant Hubert

This restaurant deserves every star of praise possible - what an experience! Delicious food, good vibes, live jazz and my favourite part...bread! We got the set course menu, which for once did not leave us unsatisfied and hungry, with a range of French food guaranteed to satisfy. The pâté and bread and perfectly softened butter introduced us to the well renowned chicken and surprising gnocchi. Dessert was absolutely stellar, with the softest custard, I would highly highly recommend Hubert. Make sure to book in advance!

Every dish was amazing and live music too! This is like a fine dining experience except with great vibes.

Perfect food, service and ambience. The live music suited the vibe and I felt like I was in Paris. The menu is classic and done exceptionally well. Would come back here again for other special occasions.

My new favourite restaurant in Sydney! What an amazing restaurant, fantastic set up, very cosy and pleasant, perfect lighting, temperature and noise levels. This is an ideal place for a date! Most importantly their food is absolute perfection. Raw scallops are something else, steak and clams... wow! Service was super attentive and friendly, the manager does a great job at running this operation.

Food 5/5 Cocktails 5/5 Service 5/5 Ambiance 5/5 Live jazz- genius!!!! Food was absolutely delicious and I was sooooo impressed with the service. We had a really good waitress who was knowledgeable about the menu and made sure we were well taken care of throughout the entire meal. There was also live jazz which I wish was always on, rather than just a special seasonal promo thing. Can’t wait to go back!

*****EDIT: After writing this Review, I have rechecked my bills and they have added a food menu we did not order. In replacement of the 2 two drinks error charges. People please beware of your final bills and keep tab of the drink glasses! it may not be significant value but the feeling of being tricked by a well renowned restaurant is really messed up**** This place really has those vintage romantic feel, the live music and dessert probably what gave the 1 star. I was so ready to give 5 stars because of the vibes and how my friends highly praised Hubert. Unfortunately does not apply for our experience. By the end of the dinner I wanted to give at least 2.5 ratings, but relieving all the mishaps memories and how unprofessionally trained the table waiter in charge was, I'd say 1 star is very generous. Plus I didn't want to ruin the celebration night. So, here's the rant: 1. We've ordered a medium steak, but it was served as rare. Because the food was already delayed, we have decided just to chow down the food. 2. The order for the main course came out late, and we were rushed to eat our food. Waitress took my plate away without asking if I'm done, when there's a bit of salad left I'd like to finish. This isn't some kind of $10 dining, we expected to have a relaxed meal as well to enjoy the live music. 3. Drinks mishap! We've ordered two serving of Sherry drinks, but was only served one. Because the Sherry drink taster was still on our table! they assumed we've finished that one glass of drink. When the taster glass was taken away, the other drink never arrived. 4. Requested for the other Sherry, then the waitress came back with two Sherry’s... like we told him we just need one. So, the other Sherry then was taken back to the bar/kitchen. 5. Also, different Sherry’s were served to us. My partners Sherry was more fruity while mine was dry. 6. Then of course the final bill showed total of 4 drinks, so we told the waitress we have only had two glasses of Sherry's. He was cool about it, but then he had to come back and make his point rudely to us "happy to take the two drinks off, but did you guys really only have 2 drinks??" that tone of accusing us and there was no apologies for the error they've made. Well, CHECK THE CCTV then, if you don't believe us. Don't accuse and no apologies to us. Feedback to the restaurant room for improvement, please train your staff well and to only have at least 1 waitress per customer. Too many hands on a deck has created confusion and for my self the service is what makes the whole dining experience even better. Understand, hospitality it is a stressful job, but staffs are trained to be on high under pressure, no matter what. The table waitress in charge didn't even had an interest to chat, like everything so rushed. No little chat of asking how are the customers are, whether the food was great. That small chat can make customer feels more welcome. This isn't a $10 restaurants, if it's advertised as 'At Hubert we believe that a fine restaurant is as much about the ambience, good conversation and laughter, as it is the quality of the wine and food.' Then please live up to the motto. Don't rush us and be emphatic, understanding how the customer feels is very important. What's good about Hubert aside from the Live Jazz Music is the Fries and the Banana Chiffon although the brandy was like a hit on your face, but it's still one good dessert. The Cod fish, in my honest opinion was too salty and sour, had some difficulty to eat it.

Dinner and cocktails by candlelight, with live music playing!! Let’s be real, what an amazing experience. The wine list, impressive. Very cozy and sophisticated. Staff so kind and hardworking. We got the 1kg rib eye steak, wow. With some fries and sides. Highly recommended, Thank you!

Charming cosy dining/bar experience. Perfect for any time or day for a luxe meal or drink and a burger. Absolutely amazing food and the Martinis are perfection. Unique and amazing spot.

Great food, great service, great wines, great venue. Only reason I'm not giving 5 is it is very expensive for the type of food it is. Banquet is $110 or $150 roughly, they give heaps of food but it's a heavy price once you start adding drinks.
