Raes on Wategos

Rae’s is a really great spot for a lunch. Whether you have been for a swim or are just looking for a nice summery spot for a beverage this is the place to be. The bar which is outside has an amazing views and the attentive waiters are super friendly. The menu has something for everything. The lobster sandwich is well priced and absolutely delicious. The cocktails are well executed and match the vibe perfectly. Surprised we could get a table here on Mother’s Day so if you’re hesitating on visiting thinking it will be busy it’s definitely worth a shot!

Exceptional friendly service. Stunning location with a breathtaking views and the beach opposite is glorious. Room very clean and large ( suite 5 has an upstairs and downstairs) and nice turn down service too. We also tried the Spa. Restaurant staff were also excellent and friendly. They helped my friend who has strict diet requirements with meal alternatives. Fresh juice and fruit at breakfast was very welcome. They also posted my jumper I left behind. Fall in love with Byron all over again by staying at Rae’s.

Rae’s is spectacular each time I have visited, the cocktail menu is amazing and the food is beyond delicious. Our waitress Ali was very knowledgeable and had such a great manner about her. She is an asset to this business. Looking forward to returning again.

This is the most beautiful place, I looked forward to this for two full months before I got to Byron! The staff, the service, the food, the ambiance, the setting. Everything perfection. I forgot to get the name of the English waiter he was amazing as well. Hats off to him. Thanks for another great visit

The view and food is great. The mains stood out and I ordered the spanner crab squid ink lasagna as it is a speciality. Despite reading a negative review about the aforementioned dish, I disagree with that review and think this dish is really flavourful and it was my favourite dish. This is really a great place to celebrate a special occasion.

Made a booking for 8. Wasn't told over 6 your forced to go with a set menu of things you don't want. But we were informed that any no shows will be charged at $100 a head on the booking persons credit card. Booking confirmation by email was wrong, so we went there to confirm in person. Again, wasn't told we had to use a set menu. Once seated we were told for the first time. I asked if we could order from the regular menu and was told no. I asked to see where this rule was. I was never shown anything. We watched as the nice size steaks we were going to order passed us by and we ended up with 2 strip's the size of a large french fry, along with bread, entrees and desert we didn't want for triple the price. There was nothing special about this place.

Great place for afternoon cocktails and oysters. We didn't have a reservation, however we sat downstairs in the outside bar area which was lovely (we had to wait about an hour on their 'waitlist'). I wouldn't recommend the lobster roll (not much lobster) but the oysters with finger lime were very nice. Beautiful hotel and area, worth stopping by if you are in Wategos Beach.

Barbara the manager was so amazing. I tried to book online although it was coming up as no availability so while at the beach I thought I would try my luck and ask in person as it was my birthday and really wanted to celebrate there.. she was more than helpful, arranging a table just a couple of hours prior. Upon arrival she treated my partner and I to a complimentary birthday drink and and kept checking on us during the night to ensure our drinks and food were perfectly timed. At the end of the night she even surprised me with a dessert with a candle on it in celebration of my birthday. Thank you Barbara for making my night so special - I truly enjoyed the service and hospitality.. oh and the food is pretty good too 😉

Last visited this place 14 years ago. Hasn't changed which is great. Beautiful food, amazing ambiance and service. A definite visit for a truly romantic experience.

This day spa is to die for. The products used are Italian products that are been around for years.. the rose water is my favourite. Felt like I was in Italy Such a unique experience and would definitely make the trip to Raes if you have the time!
