Salad is amazing. Seafood paella pretty nice, fresh and tasty. Rice combined with the seafood soup, very delicious. But I don’t like mussel a little bit fishy. And I really hope they could put few saffron.
Food was amazing, they were able to cater my request for an entire gluten-free meal. Most dishes in the menu were gluten-free. Service was excellent. Atmosphere was very romantic for a dinner with your partner.
Sometimes you just want to graze when you eat and tapas is one good option to do just that. Hidden down a little lane inside the CBD, this magical tapas place is tiny, chock-a-block and buzzing with great energy. And it’s all because of the food. Like all good tapas places, there’s a selection of small tapa as well as larger dishes like paella more suitable for sharing. We opted for six of the tapa, ate those, decided the food was just too good and added another dish of pork belly to round out the night. All of this was washed down with a couple of flagons of sangria.
This food is heaven. My favorite restaurant so far!! The service is outstanding and haven’t got the right words to describe how good the food is. Totally recommendable for having the best experience involving the five senses.
Delicious Spanish tapas found near Melbourne Central. The flatbread with capsicum was good, the pork belly was tender with a crispy skin but the highlight was definitely the beef cheek! Really good cabbage and parsnip chips with incredibly tender beef cheek alongside. My mouth is watering just thinking about it again!
Food was great! Service was very efficient and the people were friendly. Tables were a little cramped, but there is a really nice vibe inside the restaurant.
Amazing food! Very fun and authentic. Great wine and really good service. I love all the food we had, very delicious stake.
Delicious mussels, pan fried duck and patatas bravas!! Warm and vibrant atmosphere with excellent service from staff...drinks were divine.
It was be great !! The staff was amazing and the food fabulous. Highly recommended!
Had the best dinner here two times now. Love how Portello is hidden down a lane in the cbd - you'd never know it was there. The design of the place is great, kind of cosy but we had plenty of space and it's nice sitting upstairs. The highlight for me would definitely be the outstanding service. Our waiter was one of the friendliest I've ever come across in a restaurant in Melbourne. He checked in with us seeing if we liked the food, and even gave us a little box of chocolates at the end which was such a nice gesture and they're delicious too. My partner and I opted to do the $55 per person selection. It was great value and we liked most dishes. We really enjoyed the fried potatoes and the croqueta. The beef tartare portion size was too big - it gets too much to palate. The baked cheesecake for dessert was divine! Overall, Portello Rosso is a delightful Spanish tapas bar that shouldn't be missed!
