Fantastic place for a birthday dinner! Brought my partner and family to Okori for my partner’s birthday dinner, and it was fantastic! Decent sized portions for the price, great flavour, and entertaining chefs! Two of us got the Okori set with seafood (the scallops are tasty!) and two of us got the Okori set without seafood, which meant larger servings of the chicken and beef. It is definitely not a polished place, but for a local, affordable teppanyaki restaurant, I have no complaints! Also, if you’re trying to make a booking - I had difficulty calling to make a booking; seems they sometimes do not answer the phone. But if you give it some time and call back later, chances are they will answer. Also also - entrance is not on Parramatta rd; it’s at the back of the building.
What an entertaining night with my girls! Lots of laughs and interactions with the chef. Affordable menu and fresh platter of seafood. Be ready to catch the raw egg or else you will be wearing it. Great service and good night out. Definitely recommend and food portion here is definitely your money's worth. Be back for Teppanyaki next time. Thank you to all the staffs who looked after us! We left here very full for sure!
It’s good food and fun place.... price was reasonable. 13 people to cost $450 good Service.. however I am not happy with the clean of plates overall amazing experience... can recommend!!
Great food and very friendly staff. Our chef Tamaki looked after us and cooked all our food to perfection. The place is a little dingy but this is soon forgotten when we were treated to excelent hospitality and fine food. Parking out back is a bonus. Highly recommended, even though I ended up a with egg on my face!!
Great teppanyaki experience for Mother's day. Service was great, food was tasty and fresh. Expect to have a good time and a great meal. Will be back
A very enjoyable experience as always service was great my grandson Xavier enjoyed him self catching the egg and the bowl of rice
So much fun to go out for a meal with a group of friends. We had our own chef cooking right in front of us and entertaining us. We all enjoyed our food which was very fresh, clean and tasty. We would love to go back here.
Went for mum's birthday, they treated her amazingly. Some awesome tricks from the chef, only 1 of our group dropped the egg.Food 10/10 would go again. Thanks so much guys
Had my wife's 40th birthday here over the weekend. Happy Birthday Melissa! We came here group of 10 and some of my guests had dietary requirements and Okori was very helpful with the menu. One guests was vegetarian and 2 were non seafood eaters. For the cooking Okori catered our requests. With a group of 10 they made sure the vegetables were firstly cooked because of one of the guests who was "vegetarian" and made sure ALL the vegetarian dishes were all cooked first and then they cooked the meats and seafood. They did say normally they cook seafood and meats first but because of dietary requirements the chefs had to make the changes with the cooking routine. My wife and i thoroughly enjoyed their fresh salads and miso soup and steak! The steak that was cooked was so tender and the sea scallops that melt in your mouth. The service here is efficient and friendly. There were other groups that also shared the same birthday as my wife! The atmosphere here is great feels like you're in little Japan town in Sydney. Okori definitely made an enjoyable BIRTHDAY for my wife's 40th and looked after my guests. We will definitely be back and recommend Okori Teppanyaki. They also have free parking onsite which is so convenient. Thank you Okori for making our night great fun and engaging!
**PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING** Not happy with the whole experience. I was told that they will start cooking 7pm sharp - all my guests arrived on or by 710pm. The cooking did not commence till 8pm! By this time everyone was starving! Only 1 chef started cooking on the other side... was very slow... until the second chef came on 30mins later... Food was very poor quality, started off with salad, then rice, then meat... complete opposite to any teppanyaki place I been too... Service was very poor and slow. I asked the lady to close the back gate bout 4 times nothing was done about it had to get up myself and close it as everyone was freezing! it was a very cold night they did not supply any heaters... Decoration was absolutely horrible looked like a complete backyard job... This was a bday event very upset with the whole experience it was a disaster... The food was horrible and definitely not fresh! The fried ice cream looked and tasted low budget.... All guests were still hungry by the end of the night including myself... I've been to many Teppanyaki places in my time and by FAR this is the worst experience I have had. If any recommendation go to teppanyaki on George street its called Hisshou Teppanyaki - Sydney - that's what you call service, quality and entertainment!
