134 Toorak Rd South Yarra 3141, Melbourne
Great menu variety. The service was fabulous, with enough staff to attend to us. The food was delicious and the portion size was just right. Great coffee. Toorak Rd location is good as it is a walk from Chapel St shops. No South Yarra station
When I’m the area, I often park in the near by street, this place is always packed, and I love my breakfast and pastries, so decided to give this a shot. The eggs, mushroom, pulled pork on brioche was quite rich and filling, but also over priced for what it was, the French toast had too much fruit on it, which overwhelmed the actual French toast. Grabbed a chocolate croissant for breakfast the next day, it was delicious. Overall, the good tasted good, but I found that $98 for breakfast was steep for me. I’d like to try their breads next time, but not breakfast.
Do not go here!! My partner and I have been twice now and both times were incredibly disappointing. On our first visit we were blatantly ignored and had no order taken for roughly 15 minutes, despite our multiple attempts to flag down a waiter. Meanwhile, the waiter there was having a lovely chat with his mates and refusing to work. Food was average at best, mildly cold and far too expensive for the tiny portion provided. Coffee was bad (I’d recommend Darling Cafe next door!) We left hungry and poor. Our second visit we were charged $20 for 2 pastries! Any other bakery, even if it is French, charges 10$ most for two tiny baked goods. Maybe if they were the best croissants in Melbourne, but they were hardly even ordinary. They should be ashamed at their pricing. Again, service was poor at best. If you’re in the area and want a friendly, affordable and delicious breakfast, DO NOT GO TO NED’S!
Situated on the awe inspiring Toorak Rd you will find Ned’s. A large, well lit rustic space, which juxtaposes big glass windows, metallic structural beams, against concrete, and exposed brick. Inspired by Ned himself, an aircraft engineer by trade, who has spent years planning meticulously a cafe and restaurant, focused on beautiful, honest European food. At the heart of this endeavour is his love for bread which is kneaded and baked into every loaf.
We were able to buy Ned's Bread at a fruit and veg shop in Knox City until recently so on a day off we ventured into Sth Yarra to experience the cafe. We couldn't have had a better experience with the food, Coffee and service. It was worth 2 train journeys.
Quick service and good food
We came here after a big lunch so unfortunately we didn’t order food, but we’ve heard great things about their baked goods so will be back for sure. Today we just had coffees and also a really delicious chocolate fold, which was very very good. Coffees were great too, can’t wait to go here again.
Thank you to the beautiful gentleman that served me this morning. His customer service was exemplary . When asked for his recommendation, he placed a Portuguese tart in with my selection and by far, this was the best example of a P tart I've ever had. Big tick. My coffee was also perfect. For covid takeaway efficiency, can not fault my experience. Thank you
Great place and it is great for synergising with people. This place is not just a cafe but a place to meet awesome people and find meaning in life. Ah also the baked mushrooms are awesome. Staff always friendly and helpful. Food is always consistent. So why not give it a try! Cafe is built on quality food and stakeholder management fundamentals. I have been a customer for 2 years.
One of the best sandwiches I have had in Melbourne! Lip smacking delicious! A great selection of savoury and sweet bakery items
