1216 Pipers Brook Rd, Pipers Brook
Was a nice stop in here for some lunch and wine tastings. They allow you to bring your wine tasting into the restaurant so you can enjoy it with some hearty food. We had the chips and pizza, was okay but nothing to rave about.
Great spot! Lost my frisbee at the silos. If found pls return to me
What more can you ask for. Just be glad there a lunch spot in the middle of nowhere
Yummy.. hidden little gem!
Excellent platters
We visited Nadine's last month as a friend had recommended the Pipers Brook winery to check whilst touring Tasmania. We were also looking for lunch spot after driving from Freycinet and visiting some distilleries. The tables inside were fully booked with joyful hen's party but places were available in outdoor area where it was sunny though slight wind chill. The wine tasting was a disappointment with only 2 reds for tasting but the food was excellent. The Tasmanian grazing platter had great variety and highly recommended with a few wines. The chowder is thick style with good amount of seafood and beef cheek nicely cooked.
Nice little places for tastings and food. Don’t go by their menu on their Facebook page, see my photos. There was only one item they could do Gluten Free which was Caesar salad pictured. Nice Pino Gris.
PET FRIENDLY!! A cheese/meat platter to die for. You wont be disappointed. For our full review, check out our Facebook / blog page or our YouTube channel
We wrongly assumed that because this was on the Piper’s Vineyard site that it would be good - wrong! We decided, against my better judgement, to eat lunch here, in case we couldn’t find anything else open. We ordered the lamb shank pie, which came served with salad & fries. It was the first item listed on the menu, but we were advised that it wouldn’t come with pastry on top, because they’d run out, so it would have mashed potato on top instead. The lamb casserole filling was OK, but having a lump of mash on top as well as fries was too much. The salad was very basic - a few leaves, strips of red capsicum, half a cherry tomato & a few walnuts. I asked for some olive oil & balsamic vinegar to drizzle on my salad, as there wasn’t any dressing on it. I’m not sure what was put in the little jug, but it didn’t taste like olive oil & it looked like a balsamic glaze, rather than vinegar. After eating it my mouth has been tingling, so I think whatever the oil was it was rancid. And 2 hours later, I’m not feeling so good. The building is very dated and noisy & it was too cool to sit outside in the courtyard. So there was not a lot going for it. If you want their wines, buy them in a bottle shop & have lunch in a decent restaurant/cafe.
Always a delight to eat and drink here! The food is amazing. The service was amazing 👏. Nadine and her staff made our experience today wonderful. Nadine accommodated us with two dogs and we were made to feel special. Thank you! We can't wait to come back - again❤️
