Great value Japanese food. Murasaki Tanuki is our go-to place for a Japanese bento fix.

Great service. Great value. Would recommend the sashimi, whether by itself or in a bento!

The wasabi here is the freshest for sure, can't fault anything here really apart from the ramen and their sushis are definitely the go to.

Favourite Japanese restaurant/cafe. Great value. Genuine Japanese too. The bento boxes are excellent, with a great selection of foods included. The Chirashi Sushi is also a favourite, and often has nice extras such as unagi. The home made cakes are amazing, in the true modern Japanese tradition. Not too sweet either. And the coffee machine produces a very good brew.

Haven't been yet for quite a while, but the standard is still good. It is more crowded now and I saw the take away order was non-stop. The Bento set was simple, fresh and feels like it's home-cooked; not too salty nor sweet. The curry katsu rice was very filling and good too. 👍

This tiny Japanese cafe is hidden in a down-at-heel strip of shops in Stud Rd. It's decked out in a kind of grungy japanese kitch, with round sushi cushions on the border bench seat, and a shelf full of random ceramic figurines, which on closer inspection were Suntory whiskey decanters. The place is hopping busy with takeaway as well as diners, but we were not rushed. It is hosted by a genuine Japanese papa and seems to be staffed by his entire progeny. Pretty classic fare, I had an aji fry bento with miso soup. Tempura mackeral came on a bed of perfectly dressed greens alongside miso eggplant, salmon sushimi, hot rice and pickle, seaweed, endamame and citrus wedges, all fresh and well textured. I took home a slice of the adorably decorated green tea cake, which was dense, earthy and not too sweet. This place is drenched in authenticity and I honestly felt like I was back in the streets of Tokyo...I wish lived closer!

The sushi is amazing, fresh and has good quality ingredients. An added bonus that staff are pleasant. 100/10
