20 Observatory Rd, Mount Dandenong
Goid food and views
Great place to see Melbourne from the various lookouts and your able to take your pet with you. Nice cafe to grab a light meal or coffee and enjoy the view. Only complaint would be the price of parking but that is only a very minor issue
You'll have to pay to park the car up here (on the weekend) and it will likely be packed with tourists anyway. While it's OK-enough to visit and look at the view - especially if you are a tourist - there are much nicer places in the area that will not cost money to visit. There is a short (steep) but nice bush walk along Kyeema/Trig Track if you'd prefer not to park at the top.
Amazing views. Very close to home for me however it wasnβt open when I last tired to go.
Worst food and on top of it, worst service ever. Pass your way or donβt be surprise to feel bad after eating there.
We had a mixture of meals - fried chicken, beef baos, pasta and Parma. The baos were unfortunate - needed better distribution or a sauce blending the beef. The others looked nice; kids loved their meals even though the pasta literally came out cold..fortunately my son didn't care he could just eat it quicker. What truly dissapointed me was the hot drinks. Drinks always come out first usually because meals take so long but the meals came out in 20 minutes and the drinks came out in 40! I get they were busy but one man making one coffee at a time is not a good barista- he needs to work a fast paced Cafe to learn to make multi coffees. I had to request take away in the end because I didn't want to sit any longer using a table someone else could need. The views were breathtaking and worth it. The Cafe- I'll bring a picnic next time π
Wear some clothes at night please. It is cold.
You can drive to the top, although it might cost you a few dollars to park there. Beautiful gardens (they even have a maze) and amazing views.
Can see all of Melbourne. Best time to go is duribg new yrs though w s dur Ibg
It cost $8 dollars to park but that's quite normal for many Parks Vic locations - they need to get the money from somewhere to maintain the facilities. Plenty of parking available. We ate in the cafe - the food took a while to arrive but it was typical fast food quality and edible. French fries were great and Mango smoothies were one of the best I have had. Not too much to do in the gardens but the view is great. Could do worth more sun protection outside i.e. more large umbrellas. Staff were friendly.
