Mr. Wong

Would leave 1 star if i could! I was turned away for not having my ID which was fine but it has been a week and no one has returned my email about my $202 deposit! So they've taken my money and not made an effort to contact me back! Extremely disappointed and just after the money the lady at the front told me would be fully refunded. Do better mr wong.

What's with the $100 per person minimum spending? Does the business that desperate for the money now??? It used to be one of our favourite restaurants but I guess we are not going to go back until they change this policy. To be honest we will probably spend $100 per person which we had on the previous visits. But we dont appreciate it when it become a MUST.

Hits and misses... mostly hits. Great place for a family "occasion" or event. Hits - service, kingfish sashimi, pepper beef and pork/prawn siu mai Misses - XO pippis (no flavour and soggy crispy noodle base), charsiu (moist but the outside didn't have any caramelized bits). Other dishes were ok.

Walking into Mr.Wongs you find a loud, bustling and dimness restaurant. If your on a first date I guess it's great as there are plenty of distractions incase your date isn't going so well. The food overall is poor. The dumplings would have to be one of the best I've eaten but for half the price you can find the same quality at Cabravale. The King Crab corn soup was too salty. The King crab fried rice had way too many flavours (calm down). It was so intense I couldn't eat it. I can't even remember what else was ordered (that's not good). At occasions I had to remind whoever floated by that I was still waiting on drinks. The wait staff were missing. Overall Mr Wongs is overrated.

On this occasion had the $123 p/p tasting menu, selecting for the mud crab. The entire tasting menu was delicious .The mud crab itself was cooked well, it was only let down by it's sauce which tasted primarily of the thickening agent used. The ambience is always beautiful, the wait staff impeccable.

The Singapore chilli crab was not as good as I expected but the rest of the food was amazing

Service is great and pipis in xo sauce was the standout.

We went to Mr Wong for my husbands birthday. The service was exceptional, food and atmosphere were really good. My husband didn't want to choose the food so we went with the chef menu, which was plenty of food with a good selection for us to try a bit of everything. We will return for sure!

Got told to wait in line even though we have a booking prepaying 100 per head. 'everyone lines up the front door lady told me. So what is the point with the booking? Why should the booked diners wait in the same line as the walk ins? One of our favorite restaurant in town. Extremely disappointed to see this type of service.

Very well made Chinese. Good for business lunch and dinner.

Went for a winter solstice 'experience'. Really bad end to a good night. Big cover charge for very poor service and nice food. Not sure what the experience part entailed . Trying to do dark mofo in Sydney has failed miserably.

Wonderful service, great cocktails and a few amazing dishes. The cheong fan was probably as good as we've ever had. Loved the sweet and sour pork too - very clever. Broth in the xiao long bao was delicious, but the skin was just not quite as 'delicate' as we'd hoped. Vegetarian fried rice was good, but we def prefer the one they do at Queen Chow. 🤷‍♂️ Shu mai was OK, so was the prawn toast - have certainly had better though.

A grade, good food, service and ambience

First time back after about 5 years. Absolutely sensational. Outstanding service, food and an incredible vibe. It’s certainly not cheap but the dishes are generous and packed full of quality ingredients and flavour.

Amazing food, enjoyed sitting at the bat watching the kitchen do it's thing. Waiters where amazing, didn't even really look at the menu, just trusted their judgement on food.
