Grew up eating at this place and still love it. They have a wide range of Taiwanese food and drinks at a very reasonable price. Their sticky rice rolls with pork floss is amazing and great to have as a quick snack. Also highly recommend their crispy pork chop, super crispy and juicy. They have now implemented a QR ordering system which you can now easily order from the table instead of ordering at the counter.

The waiter here was one of the friendliest and most helpful I’ve ever encountered!! Wow!!! Customer service at its finest. He recommended additions to our order, explained the dishes to us and clarified what was vegetarian, and even brought me a free drink after I expressed regret about not ordering one! I seriously loved this guy, this alone was enough for me to return. The food was also awesome. An entire two pages dedicated to vegetarian dishes, including an excellent veg version of mapo tofu. I can’t wait to go back!!!

Long-standing Taiwanese restaurant offering a long list of traditional Taiwanese breakfast and lunch/dinner classics. If you've been to Taiwan you'll be familiar with many dishes and Mother Chu's does a decent job replicating comfort food in Australia. If not, you can still expect great food at affordable prices. Service can vary depending on who serves you, but generally is fine.

First time we've been back here in many years, the owner or manager at the counter was rude, dismissive and disrespectful. Accosted us for apparently not knowing the table number; ignored us in the middle of conversation and started speaking to the staff and then in essence told us to stuff off if we wanted to pay using QR code (she told us if we wanted to use it we have to find the code, but she wasn't going to help). We know beyond doubt that this is a provided service. The audacity to treat paying customers like this is unbelievable, this place may be considered an institution but her service practices are ancient and should not exist in this day and age. Objectively the food is decent. The floor staff in contrast are nice but we wouldn't go back. No product or service is worth dealing with disrespectful and awful proprietors.

Start the day with Taiwanese breakfast. All the food here feels like home cooking food. Ordered chicken breast congee, fried dough, soy eggs and pickle mushroom salad. Everything was good, although the pickle I think a little sting in vinegar to my taste bud.

Suddenly missing and wanting to grab some authentic Taiwanese Food for lunch. Mother Chu Taiwanese Food never disappoints. Today I order my all time favourite Oyster Noodle soup (somehow today tasted even better than the last time) and Taiwanese Crispy Salt n Pepper Chicken, it was nice and crispy and just the right amount the salt with nice basil to give that extra fragrant to the dish. Friendly service as always.
