135 Harrington St, The Rocks
Very knowledgeable staff. Great laid back atmosphere
This is my local "go to " place and I ove it! The daily specials are beyond reproach and the staff extremely accommodating. Great to see the place up and running again after a tough time for everyone. Enjoy the selection of beverages- especially during happy time.
I’m a great fan of mussels and this place is certainly the best spot to eat them for any other mussel lovers out there. We’ve actually been twice in the last two weeks and really loved it. Great casual spot that’s easy without much fuss.
Mind blowing!! The food was de-li-ci-ous!!! Nachos was the best. I am definetely going back there. Awesome staff members and service!!
great food, super friendly and attentive staff ... we'll be back soon
Love coming here for the $20 mussels every Wednesday’s. There’s over 6 varieties of flavours to choose from. The traditional is always nice. Siem and blue cheese is quite tasty too. All serves of mussels comes with a side of chips. Which combined, will fill you up. Well worth it. Generally no reservation required for a small group of people. Also ordered the salted caramel popcorn waffle. $16 for only 1 slice of waffle!!! Ridiculously over priced and the waffles were soggy. Shocked, disappointed and never getting desserts from here again..
Belgium is the world's best beer producing country. Unfortunately, a fine and unique establishment has been replaced by yet another generic, Australian beer-centric pub. Awful, awful, awful.
Good food, great atmosphere. Not so busy even over weekends. The great thing about Belgian Cafe is the variety of their beers which caters for different tastes from different audience. The range covers from authentic rich tastes for the blokes to the fruity flavours and low level of alcohol for the ladies. Food is superb. Mussels and chips are strange combinations for some ethnic groups but Belgian Cafe does it very well. I had friends and families visiting from overseas in different age groups and they all seemed impressed; and entertained, thanks to the alcohol. A tip of note would be that they offer $20 mussels on Wednesdays (as compared to around $35). So one can enjoy the same quality of food at a discounted price!
CLOSED BUT STILL ADVERTISED AS OPEN! Turned up a couple of weeks ago ad I’ve been told they are meant to be good. It was just all closed with no signs saying this business is (temporarily ?) closed. A neighbour walking buy told us apparently some people say they were gonna reopen in March or April, nobody knew. Is it really that hard to communicate the closure of this place on google and online website ?? Such unprofessional and disapointing behaviour towards any current and new customers. (And then they’ll cry that the locals don’t support small businesses. - we try, you’re the one making a joke out of us!)
I like the decorations inside, even though the underground bricks seem a bit frightening to me. However, the light is not very suitable for taking photos. The mussels are fresh and well cooked, and they are available in many different flavours in very affordable price. The apple pie is also delicious and there are many varieties of Belgian beers! But it's definitely not a super good taste restaurant, so only four stars for it.
