It’s the best
Friendly and fast service. This is my northern suburbs laksa go to. Yum!
Upon reading various reviews, we decided to drive many kilometres to this place and ordered the 2 dishes that got the best consistent good reviews. Good choice no regrets. Parking is not so easy but doable if you are prepared to walk a short distance. Only drawback is the poor acoustics inside which amplified the effects from a group of noisy customers in the next table.
Great Malaysian classics & Hainanese chicken rice (no spring onion sauce though). Looking forward to explore the rest of the menu soon. No need to drive anymore to Kensington to pay respects to the Laksa King!
ONE OF THE RELATIVELY FEW "GENUINE" MALAYSIAN RESTAURANTS IN MELBOURNE Malaymas has been an institution in the Melbourne suburb of Fitzroy for years. No frills, genuine Malaysian food served quickly and with a smile. You can't go wrong here if you like Malaysian food :) Can be a bit noisy and crowded - but that just adds further to the authentic feel. Takeaway is a popular option (especially in these current COVID times). People with mobility issues will be fine as it is all on one level. Parking on street can be a bit ferocious, especially on weekends but if you are happy to PT it a tram runs rights past the restaurant. Good place to go for a casual meal with friends. Think laminex table tops, plastic cups for tea / water and sights and smells of KL :) Not expensive and quite a good range.
Abit disappointed in some dishes. Came here few times and tried several noodles types and some entrees. The portions dont balance level with noodles. Too little portions like a few meats n veggies. The hokkien noodles is really bad. Hainan chicken rice just an average but the cost not worth it for hainan chicken. No soup with it as well.
Decent local Malaysian joint. Chicken curry laksa's worth a try. Some of their noodle dishes are good, others not so good.
Had dinner during the week and didn't have any problems getting a table. Tried the combination hor fun for $13.90 - decent serving size, noodles not too charred, and service was friendly & efficient.
Cheap and yummy. This place is our favorite
Best laksa in Melb 🔥
