Best burgers in the area

We visited the takeaway five times during our house hunting and settlement period. I have tried the lunch special burger package $15 worth every dollar spent. love their curry and the rice meals as well. Good to see a nice takeaway shop nearby my future house with walking distance. The lovely owners were very helpful and professional. Will recommend them to our friends as well.

Delicious takeaway food. We had the chicken katsu curry and various tapas pieces and it was lovely and so fresh!

Highly recommend this place. Staff are friendly and very helpful. The chicken katsu burger is the best chicken burger I have ever tasted. The chips are really nice and seasoned to perfection.

Interesting blend of Japanese food and more traditional takeaway options. Menu isn't huge, but the food is delicious. Would particularly recommend the curry.

This gem of an eatery is criminally underrated and so deserving of a larger following. Hidden away at the Nichols shops, Katsu offers a great selection of Japanese themed burgers and entrees. Their selection of truly epic donburi bowls are something else. These rice bowls are so dense and heavy that honestly one bowl could feed two. I burned up 6 million calories carrying my order of two donburi bowls to my car. My friend came all the way from MacGregor and bought 3 (!) bowls for himself and his partner. After declaring to me that it was the best donburi he's ever had in Canberra, then crying about how much food there was, I never heard from him ever again. Since moving from Sydney to Canberra, I've always been so frustrated at how much we get ripped off here for average to below average food for measly portion sizes. Katsu not only serves great tasting food but it's also great value for generous helpings. These guys don't want you to go hungry. The store looks pretty good, and the staff - from the lovely lady taking all the orders and the mysterious chef stoicly working behind the scenes - are awesome. These guys are one of the reasons I'm so glad for moving to Gungahlin. Thanks again and keep up the good work 😊

The burgers at katsu could be some of the best i have ever had. Nicholls takeaway has truely been revamped

Quality Japanese cuisine has arrived in Nicholls! The food here is amazing, with a great range available for takeaway or for dining in. They have very delicious Japanese tapas options, Japanese-inspired burgers, several types of crumbed fish, sushi and sashimi, various rice-based donburi meals, chips with green seaweed flakes, and Japanese-type desserts, milkshakes and soft drinks (think green tea and black sesame puddings and mousses, lychee and green tea shakes, Calpis, Ramune, ocha...). And all in a newly-renovated shop in a quiet setting adjacent to the Nicholls IGA, with plenty of parking and a playground for the kids nearby. What a great addition to Nicholls and Gungahlin! :)

Have had two excellent meals at Katsu, went with a friend and we had the Chicken Katsu Curry and the Chicken Katsu don both were flavoursome, fresh. Whilst both were generous servings the Curry was massive, couldn't even finish it. Second visit we tried the Wagyu and Menchi burgers. Again generous size and in the case of the Menchi something different for Canberra.
